    Pros

    The environment is very friendly and the staff is great. The pay and benefits are by far the best!

    Cons

    Sometimes we have to deal with rude, lonely and mentally ill elders and it breaks my heart. We get blamed for everything good and the bad, mostly the bad because members automatically speaking to us first.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your staff the way you are and you'll have the great turn out of calls and if environment. Incorporate others ideas to come up with ways to make us a stronger team.

    Good company culture. Care about members and community

    Cons

    High turnover at the department I was at. Culture of micromanagement, favoritisim and inefficiency. Some teams are in constant verbal fight. HR itself is high in turnover and lacking integrity. It is overly protective of management to a point you wonder whether things are legal.

    Advice to Management

    Question middle management about turnover. Improve HR practices before it brings company to demise! You guys are getting paid federal money.

    SCAN takes great care of their members

    Cons

    It is an extremely hostile work environment to work in. There is so much micromanagement, leadership under C suite is not allowed to make any decisions. Engagement is low with high turn over.

    Advice to Management

    start paying attention to the high turn over in HR.

    Pros

    I like working for scan and wjat they stand for in the elderly population

    Perks:
    Lunch provided at times
    Hand made coffee occasionally
    Massages occasionally
    Ability to grow in company

    Cons

    I cant stress enough how under appreciated the member services dept is. And there is always constant "praise" from other depts saying "i could never do what you do!" Its an insult since positions that do 1 task in any other dept gets paid waaay more.
    -underpaid compared to other Member service positions in other companies.
    -constantly giving us another hat to wear to make another depts life easier
    (No increase in pay when that happens)

    Most recently that is the biggest complaint that is the reason i no longer want to work in MEMBER SERVICES DEPT......

    The newer staff they hired in management including supervisors and managers are laughable. They dont know to do a lot of things and complain when they have do something and have to ask reps what to do. Myself included. I have even guided one through a supervisor call and how to resolve it. And a lot of qualified people on dept applied for those positions bit they decided to get incompetent external people.
    -micromanaging
    -too focused on meeting service level that it affects customer service quality
    -Management gossips
    -favortism moving up in this dept.

    Advice to Management

    -Hire supervisors and managers that actually do their job and qualify!
    -Start having their teams give feedback on their supervisors.
    -take calls an hour a day to not lose touch of our polices
    -get on the phones when we are on code red instead of walking around telling us we are busy, work harder and call us on the phone telling us we are passed our minute of after call time to type. And u can hear them all laughing together about something unrelated while we are being slammed and stressed out. (And we were told before of we are busy even management fets on the phones. Never once)

    Pros

    Free lunches, no drama among staff, no micro-managing, pretty clean office environment, and building seems to be secured.

    Cons

    Unfriendly department staff, over worked, high volume workload, rude members, and unprofessional behavior toward manager

    Advice to Management

    Regulate realistic workload to allow coordinators to provide more quality than quantity work, especially with upcoming audit.

    Do some survey/interview among related employers first before promoting anyone to avert making any more stupid decision.

    There can be some disconnect between the people in the know and the ones not but they're improving

    Continue to be great leaders and don't take any employee for granted
