    Offer more opportunities for advancement; mgmt needs leadership training and employees need the opportunity to provide feedback on manangement

    Pros

    If you need a job to get by and want to work in the energy sector this is a starter company that can give you lots of experience.

    Cons

    Low Pay, Senior Managers that constantly threaten to fire people and create a toxic environment, No opportunity to learn and grow in your job, constant conflict and internal hostility.

    Advice to Management

    Start hiring good people with proper business training and not local yocals that want to sit and get their paychecks meanwhile abusing everyone and threatening them.

    Pros

    -Great team environment and employees
    -SCANA truly cares about their customers and wants to do right by them
    -They still offer a pension plan

    Cons

    -Everything was based on production (as most call centers are) so you are sort of bound to your chair
    -If you are a minute late, you will get talked to
    -After the downturn of the economy, they cut a lot of the employee incentives such as parties and giveaways. Also, the bonuses went down.
    -Work becomes monotonous

    Advice to Management

    Try not to cut so many employee morale incentives. After all, a happy employee = high production rate.

    The family atmosphere. Co-workers cared and shared.

    Cons

    Not performance based but who you know and your complexion.

    Advice to Management

    Do more coaching.Slow to recognize postives but quick to identify a negative.

    Benefits, pay, Culture, great perks and a great CEO

    Cons

    Poir choice in upper Management led to a unpleasant work environment.

    Advice to Management

    SCANA has a great culture and simple values and that created a wonderful work environment. However there were poor choices made when selecting upper management. It became impossible to do a good job and changed to a negative environment.

    I worked at SCANA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    I worked at SCANA for 6 months as an intern and was offered a full time position after about one month of my internship. SCANA seemed to treat employees equally and ensured all employees got their work done. SCANA had a great benefits package and employees seemed to retire at SCANA rather than move along from job to job. Most employees I worked with had been at SCANA for over 10 years and worked in multiple departments over that tenure. Overall, if you are looking for a career where you are able to stay at for a while and climb the corporate ladder, this is a place for you.

    Cons

    When I worked at SCANA, the pay for my initial opening was slightly below average and HR would not negotiate based on other offers I had received. The Columbia area where the main headquarters is located does not provide the greatest means of living.

    Advice to Management

    The office culture of SCANA was perfect for someone in IT like myself. The compensation at SCANA was the only thing subpar and the willingness of HR to budge on my initial rate of pay. Ultimately, if the starting rate of pay was not 40% less than other offers, I would have stayed at SCANA
