    Pros

Very good benefits, 401K, and management

    Cons

The pay is not as much as other companies within the same industry but thats due to the company being smaller than duke, exelon, dominon, first energy, etc.

    Pros

Laid back atmosphere, lower Management is good and easy to talk to, enjoyed working there, enjoyed the projects I was tasked with and was looking forward to retiring with the new AP1000 plants

    Cons

Upper management didn’t do their job to finish the new AP1000 plants , failed AP1000 construction plants , laying off more than 5100 employees

I worked at SCANA full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great family like atmosphere while at work (amongst employees). Pay finally got better at the end for specific Supervisor positions ( then they were all laid off).

    Cons

Managers seem to prefer mediocrity over real results. Very reactive vs proactive. I guess it is easier to make a decision when one is forced on you instead of making tough decisions beforehand to prevent bad situations.

    Advice to Management

Stop worrying so much about shareholders and worry about the people that run the company day to day. They see how you always raise the dividends on your stock but never seem to have money for pay raises or better equipment. Spend money on quality managers. Stop just promoting Joe Bob because everyone knows him.

I have been working at SCANA full-time

    Pros

    -Decent benefits
    -The company gym is nice

    Cons

    -Incompetent supervisors
-Consistently cutting costs, which prevent equipment from being repaired and needed positions from being filled
-"Good ole boy" southern promotion structure
-Persons who are not qualified and should not be hired often are and then pushed through the training and qualification process and then praised by supervision for doing substandard work
-Nepotism (but they wont call it that)
-Constantly being jerked around to multiple labs, thus making errors likely
    -Constantly degraded equipment
    - Hostile work environment because supervisors have a policy of non-intervention when there is an issue between employees
-Supervisors have no understanding of day to day operations and have unrealistic expectations
    - Supervisors have different standards for different employees at the same employment level
-Supervisors are held to the same level of knowledge standard as employees
-Supervisors mislead employees about overtime when asked to cover shifts unexpectedly
-There is a lack of consensus between the supervisors/manager as to what employee roles and responsibilities are
-Plant management seems satisfied with chemistry department performance
-Employment stagnation. There is no movement within this department unless you are too incompetent and pose a threat to the group, then they will promote you so that you cant cause the plant any trouble.

    Advice to Management

Rotten to the core. Remove all supervisors. Interview specialist about department problems and not corrupt supervisors.

I worked at SCANA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The work environment is great. Everyone got along, and I particularly worked under a great supervisor. It had good pay, great 401k match, and a high deductible health plan. It is unfortunate that the new nuclear construction project got cancelled.

    Cons

None. If the project didn't get cancelled, I would have tried to make a career with SCANA.

    Advice to Management

None. Keep doing nuclear the way you are. Great culture.

Upper management communicates and stays engaged with lower level employees.

    Cons

Not very popular with local community at this time due to nuclear project abandonment.

    Pros

Treat their employees well and genuinely care about their well-being.
Managers and supervisors are very supported of young members and take time to ensure they're taken care of.
    Very enjoyable office life.

    Cons

Sometimes the depth of rigor gets frustrating but is necessary.
You'll need to go through a whole lot just to make a little progress but again, its necessary.
