I have been working at SCC full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The Offices are quite impressive and modern and there is a good vibe. Most of the people are very nice and this makes all the difference

    Cons

To my surprise there are not many cons to working here and the only one I can think of maybe is the location of the offices but a small price to pay

    Advice to Management

Value every employee as an individual.

I have been working at SCC as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Overtime offered with 150% of base pay for weekends (now subject to "revision");
    - No-nonsense environment;
    - Decent paid holiday accrual plan
    - Respectful managers

    Cons

    - Lowest positions (and even supervisor roles) filled with severely over-qualified and under-paid people
    - Inefficient organisation of work (due to managerial decisions) has to be compensated for with extra work by the footman
    - Low pay further reduced by "administrative payroll expenses" shouldered by employees and not the company (contract-dependant)
    - Severe focus on money instead of people (they will cut as much as they legally can from your pay/benefits)
    - Only minimal (obviously unpaid) breaks: 30 minutes every 8 hours
    - Work quantity entirely based on numbers, regardless of real time required
    - Mind-numbing work
    - You are absolutely expendable due to the role being extremely streamlined
    - Extremely limited upwards mobility (seniority tiers offer minimal extra pay per hour)
    - No personal or professional development whatsoever

    Advice to Management

Revise the work environment, maintain and fix the lab equipment, provide sufficient work space, make work flow continuous between sections to prevent bottlenecks at start and end of shifts.

Make pay based on targets, not on hours worked. Institute a bonus system. If hourly system is kept, always pay overtime extra (it still makes you plenty of money to fulfill contracts you would otherwise have to turn down).

    - You feel that they will supported by your manager, just feeling.
    - Facility quite good for new branches.

    Cons

    - Nano management (smaller than micro).
    - Treat employees as casual labour at factory.
    - Never listen to your opinion.
    - Your efort never recorded even you did good job. Always receive email complaining about things you can't complete even they're not in your reach or your responsibility.
    - They always say that they will not do micro management but they are applying nano management.

    Advice to Management

    - Don't use army guys to manage employees as we're not soldiers.

I have been working at SCC full-time

    Pros

Brilliant on paper... small number of genuine nice people. Some new office are nicely finished off

    Cons

Current management in dcs are trying to use skills they learnt in the military to manage staff. There are aspect of that which is not in line uk working right regulations. If you complain then be prepared to be managed out the company like many of my colleagues were.

This is the first organisation I've seen were management use underhand tactics to victimise staff. I've sat in meeting myself and was directly requested to fabricate or find any time of evidence which would support termanting an employees contract as they were not liked by management

    Advice to Management

I've seen you bring in a internal company to review internally how service management practices are ran but that individual was sacked as it highlighted the senior management team mr rigby trust is at fault for the bad practices and culture they have created. Mr rigby take back control of your company and cleanse your management team that report into you.

I have been working at SCC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good salary, but only because the pension is poor. It's how they retain people.

    Cons

Where to start? Poor line management. Inward looking, sales driven and with incredibly bad process.

The worst career move I ever made. Staff are treated like children - no trust, no empowerment. The attitude is that the company can do what it wants because it's privately owned.

It would take a massive cultural change, starting at the very top, to make this a good choice of employer!

    Advice to Management

Stop posting false reports on Glassdoor. There's no other advice worth giving, because it won't be listened to.
