I have been working at SCC full-time

    Pros

As I said, it's the right place to start....

    Cons

...and after you've learnt to move your wings then you'll fly away.

    Advice to Management

Love your employees more than you want them to love you. Do something to keep your best people inside the company instead of being a stepping stone. One day you could be the final destination for someone.

    Pros

Salary paid on time. Sadly nothing more.

    Cons

Bad environment, incompetent managers, low salaries, no room for advancement because the "right people" only choose other "right people"

    Advice to Management

They are fully aware but they don't care.

I worked at SCC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Always paid on time and the people on the ground doing the work are excellent, but severely undervalued. Coffee in the canteen was cheap

    Cons

In 2 words, the management. In DCS the most unapproachable bunch of people you ever had the misfortune to meet, unless you were in the clique. There is no respect for their staff. No pay rises in the 3 years I was there. Avoid at all costs

    Advice to Management

Look after the people who are desperate to get out of your organisation, it'll fall on deaf ears though as management only look up never down

I have been working at SCC as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Overtime offered with 150% of base pay for weekends (now subject to "revision");
    - No-nonsense environment;
    - Decent paid holiday accrual plan
    - Respectful managers

    Cons

    - Lowest positions (and even supervisor roles) filled with severely over-qualified and under-paid people
    - Inefficient organisation of work (due to managerial decisions) has to be compensated for with extra work by the footman
    - Low pay further reduced by "administrative payroll expenses" shouldered by employees and not the company (contract-dependant)
    - Severe focus on money instead of people (they will cut as much as they legally can from your pay/benefits)
    - Only minimal (obviously unpaid) breaks: 30 minutes every 8 hours
    - Work quantity entirely based on numbers, regardless of real time required
    - Mind-numbing work
    - You are absolutely expendable due to the role being extremely streamlined
    - Extremely limited upwards mobility (seniority tiers offer minimal extra pay per hour)
    - No personal or professional development whatsoever

    Advice to Management

Revise the work environment, maintain and fix the lab equipment, provide sufficient work space, make work flow continuous between sections to prevent bottlenecks at start and end of shifts.

Make pay based on targets, not on hours worked. Institute a bonus system. If hourly system is kept, always pay overtime extra (it still makes you plenty of money to fulfill contracts you would otherwise have to turn down).

I have been working at SCC full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - You feel that they will supported by your manager, just feeling.
    - Facility quite good for new branches.

    Cons

    - Nano management (smaller than micro).
    - Treat employees as casual labour at factory.
    - Never listen to your opinion.
    - Your efort never recorded even you did good job. Always receive email complaining about things you can't complete even they're not in your reach or your responsibility.
    - They always say that they will not do micro management but they are applying nano management.

    Advice to Management

    - Don't use army guys to manage employees as we're not soldiers.
    - Internal process, services process only exist on papers. Old guy lazy to support new guys as they have to.
    - Have proper training for new services department before shout at their face for what they cant do.

    I worked at SCC full-time

    Pros

So when it comes to the pros of working for SCC, I can't really think of any whatsoever, other than a good salary.

    Cons

My interview with SCC filled me with hope, the hiring manager was very interested in my previous skills and experience. When I started with SCC, it quickly became apparent that everything I was told at the interview was completely un-true. There was a huge lack of direction by management and it actually took 5 weeks before I was given something to do!

    Advice to Management

Don't mis sell jobs, people will just come and then go elsewhere when they realise they they have been mis-sold the job.
