    Approves of CEO

I have been working at SCL Health part-time for less than a year

    Pros

I love our environment. They practice what they preach, kindness towards each other as well as our patients. They are committed to the person, not just their body. Our patients are people, not a number, not a dollar sign. I leave work feeling good about what I have contributed. Benefits are great.

    Cons

The hiring process took a month.

    Advice to Management

Hire a new company to d back ground checks faster!

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at SCL Health full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Pretty good pay. Interesting and diverse patient population. Good transfer opportunities. Decent benefits. Epic, not Meditech, which is great. Good coworker cooperation. Nice facility that is usually clean.

    Cons

Lab management treats phlebotomists very poorly. Underlings get blamed for issues out of our control. Unsafe parking. Chronically understaffed. High performers are rarely recognized.

    Advice to Management

Don't always blame the little guys. Look at the system without being defensive. It will allow many more opportunities for growth instead of resentment.

"Great place to go, Horrid place to work"

I have been working at SCL Health full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Work is easier b/c of all the electronic systems used. The hospital is constantly expanding. Keeps you busy so the days don't drag by.

    Cons

Horrible pay! All of management are friends so if you have an issue and need to follow the chain of command, you might as well hang it up. Nothing will get done about your concerns.

    Advice to Management

Quit playing favorites and do your job. There's nothing worse than having an issue and feeling like there's no point in bringing it up to your boss b/c you know all it will do is get you on the list to be fired next b/c "your not a team player".
