    4.0
Former Employee - Certified Nurse Assistant

I worked at SCL Health part-time

    Pros

Good benefits, paid time off, ability to work flexible (1/2 shifts)

    Cons

Like all hospitals, it depends on the unit you work on. Some units have a really great culture, others fall in to blaming other people for things. As a CNA, I experienced a lot of improper delegation from nurses which was frustrating.

I have been working at SCL Health full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good benefits and pay. Great co-workers

    Cons

Corporate mentality that has led to a cattle drive model of healthcare leading to patient dissatisfaction. Leadership will deny time off due to short staffing, but in the same breath will tell you to use your PTO or lose it. Staff turnover becoming an issue where five years ago, SCL was a desired place to work.

I worked at SCL Health full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great coworkers Good Benefits Ability to work remotely New technologies

    Cons

The company no longer values it's employees. What used to be a family environment is now all about $. If you come to work here then take what skills you learn and then take them somewhere else. Don't stay too long. Management now seem to be on constant chaos. There is no job security any longer.

I have been working at SCL Health full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Good benefits and neat people

    Cons

You don’t matter unless you are a dollar sign. It feels like they are positioning the ambulatory market for sale. Hard working employees are leaving faster than they can hire them. It’s sad. Used to be a great company.

    Pros

Good pay, good benefits and close to home.

    Cons

Too big and you get lost in the shuffle you never know who is doing what in the corporate office. Most of middle management is abusive and upper management doesn't care.
