I have been working at SCO Family of Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I've worked for this agency once before and quit because of the working conditions, but I thought a different site might have a different culture. There have been some improvements but it is mostly the same.

    Generous sick and vacation time
Provides clinical supervision for licensing hours
    Staff is friendly
    Agency-provided trainings run year-round

    Cons

Everything is still documented in handwriting
    Program is understaffed
It takes months to replace someone which leaves more work for remaining staff (perpetual cycle)
Because leadership is absent, mid-level staff is supporting entry-level staff
Clients are treated better than staff
Clients are becoming more entitled and less respectful
Policies are constantly changing that no one knows what the rules are
It seems some clients are not appropriately placed and would be better served in a HLOC

    Advice to Management

Nurture and fight for your staff to be fairly treated and compensated so there is less turn over.

I have been working at SCO Family of Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I have never loved a team I work with so much. Everyone works great together and there is a real sense of caring and looking out for each other.
Hours are somewhat flexible, great benefits and vacation time.

    Cons

Policies and practices that are mandatory are sometimes hard to work with because you know they might not be in the best interest of the clients. It's an emotionally demanding job.
Seems like other programs in the agency aren't run as well as the particular one I work at so other experiences could differ.

I have been working at SCO Family of Services full-time

    Pros

The grounds on Briarwood campus were incredibly well maintained giving the impression of a beautiful environment. Staff had an incredible amount of freedom to do as they wished.

    Cons

Principal has no teaching background and does not understand how a school works, from scheduling to curriculum. Principal looksthe other way for many incidents, choosing to respond to some and does not address others. Software and internet glitches, not financial support for computers, software or teaching materials.

    Advice to Management

Invest in good management, principal is running school into ground. It is only a matter of time before something really bad happens that cannot be covered up!

    Pros

lots of vacation time and sick days, working at a non-profit makes you feel like you can help to make a difference in these people's lives.

    Cons

salaries are very low for most workers but too high for executive directors, they need to spread the wealth to the people actually working instead of just having meetings to talk about people working. salaries are bad unless you are management, no room for growth, no cost of living raises. will only get a better position if you are friends with management.

    Advice to Management

how about actually responding to the reviews instead of pasting the same reply for every review, makes hr look lazy
