I worked at SEI/Aaron's (More than a year)

    Pros

The tools and software they used were good.

    Cons

The IT department lies and distrusts their employees, and harasses them unnecessarily. A lot of time is spent talking down to them as if they were no good

    Advice to Management

    Let employees do their work.

I'm sorry to hear you had that experience. I see you listed your location as Kennesaw, GA, which is not one of our franchise store locations. Again, it's disappointing to hear about your experience... More

    I worked at SEI/Aaron's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very little positive experiences were derived from this company. I did enjoy the amount of time I spent out of the store trying to track down customers who skipped off with merchandise.

    Cons

The company completely takes advantage of the poorest and most desperate sectors of the population. No one forces someone to purchase items from Aaron's but it sets the customer up to fail.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better, treat your customers with respect, try to avoid putting your employees in dangerous situations, and at the very least fulfill your promises to, "get you [the customers] to ownership."

    Pros

None. There's nothing good about this company. They lie to their employees and they put their customers at risk. Stay away.

    Cons

They lied about money. "60k salary" was actually 20 bucks an hour at an absurd 55 hours a week. And they cook bed bugs out of beds and lease them to customers. A sad disgrace of a company.

    Advice to Management

    Close the doors

    Pros

Gm's make good money, that's it.

    Cons

All back stabbers, the owner has no idea what's going on, they put on a show when he comes to town. All fakes. They break every debt collection law under the sun and resell dirty used furniture....beware the State have busted them, more than once.

    Advice to Management

Your staff has a family, 55 hrs a week is crazy. Also don't make people feel like they will be fired if they call in sick.

    I worked at SEI/Aaron's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Networked with a lot of people which made it easy to move on.

    Cons

Very sexist company. There is 0 diversity and it is shown woth the SEI managers when you would go to a conference. The lack of black or female managers in New York is very suspicious to the Regional Manager's hiring practices. Throughout New York it is blatantly obvious people were at certain jobs only because of who they knew and not the skill level. There is blatant good old boy system and you are either in or be fired eventually because they don't like you or a liability. It was very concerning to me when a Regional Manager would come to your store and openly brag about how much fun it is to fire people. Also as GM you are micromanaged to the point you don't want to be there. No matter how good you do you will always feel like you will be fired any day. To conclude the lifeblood of this company is lies. You have to lie to employees, customers, and in turn your multi unit managers will lie to you. I seen them offer people relocation packages based on hollow promises or set people up to fail constantly. Also beware if you are a perspective. Quid-pro-quo is quite popular with upper management and you will be gone and the offender will still be there.

    Advice to Management

Do a climate survey with store level employees. They already operate out of fear or discomfort mainly because SEI's HR department is the owner's assistant. There is no real HR. There is nowhere for somebody to go but out of the company. Because no one cares for them out there.
