    I worked at SEIU Local 32BJ full-time

    Pros

I learned a great amount of information on unions and what the bigger fight in the union is all about. Building a team with workers to help the secure a better future for their families and for themselves.

    Cons

The campaign office didn’t have any positions open at the end of the training program.

    Pros

    35h/weekly
Employer 100% paid benefits although the co-pay for the best hospitals is $250 - $1000.

    Cons

    Salary below the market
Little time off for new joiners
    No growth opportunities
Ivy-League oriented (almost all the Dept. Directors come from Ivy League Universities regardless their skills or previous experience)

    Advice to Management

More skill-oriented less Ivy League-oriented staff.
    Better talent retaining policy
Implement Work From Hom - WFH
    Adequate salaries

I have been working at SEIU Local 32BJ full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay, benefits, paid time off, great staff, beautiful office in a great location, commute is quick to and from work

    Cons

Management is not on the same page when it comes to policy and procedures. One supervisor will say do something one way and another will tell you do the complete opposite.

    Advice to Management

Have weekly staff meetings where your reps and their supervisors can speak about the concerns and issue they may be encountering. We are the ones that are on the phone day in and day out and know the common issues may reps may all be having

    Pros

There are no pros to membership in this exploitive organazation

    Cons

Every delegate, attorney and union rep cares not about the labor force. They are more interested in making sure that the employers are happy. The heads of this so called union need to be sent to jail. Very corrupt.

    Advice to Management

I hope you al go to prison. That will wipe the stupid smirk of of your arrogant faces

I worked at SEIU Local 32BJ full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good pay, and good benefits.

    Cons

Working long hours, double shifts and all holidays around the clock, having no personal life. You can be fired easily out of nowhere for anything.. there is no protection, or anyone on your side, "as they claim", even after paying your dues.

    Advice to Management

Go back to the old school ways where it was "hard" to be fired from a Union. And when there were fair hearings and trials.
