I have been working at SELLBYTEL Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Amazing co-workers and also some incredible team leaders and project leaders even though most of the good project leaders have left. The trainers do what they can within what the are allowed to train you. Free parking all the time, but beware of cars scratching your doors. Workforce Management leaders are the ones who treat you as human beings but even they can only do what upper management tells them how to treat... you.

    Cons

Nothing is like they tell you in the interview. Nothing is like they tell you when you get promoted within the company. They treat you always as number and a robot slave. There is usually only a few seconds in between each call and you cannot take breaks when you want. Your breaks area controlled to the second, if you take more than 1 or 2secs more in the morning, afternoon or lunch periods you have unjustified... absenteeism. They want you to be a YES man and there is no merit in the career progression, only the friends and those who agree with upper management have a pass. You need to be a Robot and never present your creative thoughts or suggestions you are going to be told "you know nothing of the business" or "this is how this business is run" . Team leaders always take most of the crap from upper management and are the ones who have to give face for really bad management decisions, management never gives out their face and use you to their limits, blaming Team leaders for their bad decisions and blaming team leaders if you get bad results or if affect the team or company results. Upper and middle management is so used to bully you all the time, this is normal for them, if you don't agree with how the slave labour is done or allocated to you, they will show you the door out, alleging there is always plenty of people willing to to the same job. You will never be appreciated even if you never miss a day of work and put the company before your family. Also forget about your bonus, you will never get it, even if the Team leader tells management you deserve it, the metrics and how the bonus file is done with complex excel formulas will deny you of your bonus always. It is always a problem to take your vacations, since they only allow very small amount of people per week to take their holidays in the same period, stating there is a high client demand and you cannot take them in the period you want. The Internal communications is an absolute disaster and not only management and HR doesn't know how to write proficient in the language of the project you work for, but they also barely know how Portuguese law works and deny your legal rights all the time, based on internal procedures made for the specific project you work for. They only Hire you on monthly temporary contracts and if you're lucky to get a 6 month contract, which they can always dismiss you at the end of 4th contract renewal, usually in the middle of end of year or just before Christmas. Last but not leat if you are desperate to work, always read the contract paragraphs, most of them are not according to each country labour law and be ready to have always mistakes on your payslips which can only be corrected only 1 to 3 months later depending on how many departments were involved in deducting minutes out of your payslip by mistake or forgetting to pay money you were owed.

    Advice to Management

If you hire people to speak a specific language as natives make sure you too also speak and write that same language proficiently. Lead by showing the employees your example and never treat them as numbers. Give them raises when they deserve it and show respect for each persons family conditions, ask not how your employees can make you more money by how your employees can make your company grow and show other... prospective candidates how it is a great place to work in. The better working conditions and the better your employees feel in their job, the better candidates the company will have.

I have been working at SELLBYTEL Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people, payslip (during the first year), work location and career growth possibility.

    Cons

career growth illusion (I do not "bend over"), payslip structure down the pipe during my second year (yes, the "bonus), inconceivable decisions from management forcing advisors to leave the company, inconceivable decisions from management towards senior advisors from Mac senior lob, inconceivable decisions from management towards people with more than 5 years in the company (push them aside or moving them to... another department). Incomprehensible decisions that simply don't bring any advantage to the site or to the advisors. Implementation of certain "services" without the knowledge or query made to the advisors, it would seem that such opinion would not be required. Letting go or releasing a high number of advisors and team leaders from various lobs because we are on a "ramp down", and a couple of months later new job openings inviting people to a great multicultural environment and to be part of a great team. To all of you that simply say that this is a company and therefore needs to maintain it's balance, profit and sustainability, are just excuses to actions done by a poor management team that prefers to use cohersion and intimidate their own employees just because of metrics, results and audits. It's a real and cruel lesson to learn in your professional life, how swiftly a company with so high standards "ramps down" in a way that the down is the only way possible.

I have been working at SELLBYTEL Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Amazing co-workers -Some incredible Team Leaders -The trainers are unbelievably good and supportive -Nice restaurants -Free parking (although prone to accidents and the stray car driving into the stairs) -Workforce Management has some very capable folk who actually treat you as a person

    Cons

-Their definition of a salary raise is by increasing your bonus, which becomes increasingly harder to get, to the point where rarely will you actually get more than 50 to 70% of your bonus -The HR department is a joke. They have no idea of Portuguese law, they are unable to get the paychecks right consistently and it's nigh impossible to reach out to them -Management has one person who looks out for you, but lacks... the know-how, or the strength, to actually make a difference -Management often employs, or tries to, fear tactics, with one person in particular believing he is above everyone else -Career progression is impossible; you can work hard, try to reach the position of Team Leader, or even change departments, but you'll go back to the line at the whims of Management if they feel like it -The bonus scheme keeps changing and it's harder and harder to get -No actual salary raises in years -Despite it being a fast-wear job, you can only get some offline time if you need a round-table, or sgt, or if you get to the point where you just snap and request medical leave -The Quality team provides conflicting information with the client's procedures, and some know less than certain advisors -For a company that requires, at least a CAE level in english, Management has an appalling mastery of the language -You are treated as just another number, rather than an actually valued worker (though some Team Leaders, trainers and wfm members actually care for you) -It's nearly impossible to request a fixed schedule, or even trade if something unexpected happens. Either you manage to somehow find a co-worker that can help you, or it's almost impossible to swap schedules -Money continues to be wasted in pointless facilities/luxuries, rather than into improving salaries and working conditions

    Advice to Management

Rethink your strategy, urgently. You don't motivate your workers by sending cliché emails, or by waving a bonus above their noses, just outside of their reach. Listen to your workers, make them feel cared for, offer stability, offer better wages and find competent people to handle communications between all departments.

-Free shuttle to and from Oeiras/Lisbon -Met some great colleagues -Above average salary

    Cons

I don't even know where to begin... First of all, the actual job is never near clearly presented during interviews or training period. They mention "stress" but they don't mention having to take calls with 8 seconds break between them. They never mention the immense pressure put upon everybody to reach perfection. And the response to our complain about the time between calls was "We complained to the client... company but there's nothing we can do" Management keeps sending emails with the never ending pile of stuff we needed to comply with, from internal procedures to call handling times, and kept pushing to participate in the overtime periods, which at the end of the day didn't pay that much more. I stayed for a few months for the money and because I had great time with coworkers, but I was slowly losing my sanity. For me, speaking to the customers was great; but the attitude of team leaders, management and HR is plain ridiculous. HR is all fake smiles, always trying to get themselves out of any tricky situation (employees resigning, not paying the right amount of salary...) Keep in mind you'll just be a replaceable number for this company and nothing more. Maybe even less. About the values... What values? I kept wondering if the company staff were androids capable of understanding human emotions.

    Pros

Office location and environment is good. That's all I can think about.

    Cons

    - Don't sold by what the hiring team tell you. Full of empty promises. In team where no staffs work more than a year. You can imagine the turn over rate for a 2 years project. Team leader left after I joined and new Team Leader came in 5 months after. - It takes 2 month to get the email done and after work for a month they said the role is redundant and failed to find me a place in other project for another 3... months time. It's a joke when they reject your leave to for interview. - No more quarterly country visit because of budget issue and those went never get their claims till they resigned, - A sales quota that full with nonsense rules. (Example: 70% partners buying rate but 50% of assigned partner are dead.) - Quarterly commission take 2 months to count which mean you only get comm on end of fifth month. - No more free gym because contract end and unable to find a new place. - If you still want to join this company. Make sure the portion of basic salary & commission is 9/1 instead of 7/3 of total offered.

I worked at SELLBYTEL Group part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Posibilidad de trabajar desde casa

    Cons

Nada es como lo que te dicen en la entrevista. Te tratan como a un esclavo. Te obligan a hacer horas extras.
