    Pros

SHI is an incredible place to begin and nurture your sales career - there is a true commitment to inspiring, developing and organizing sales people as they embark on their careers, often times right out of college. There is a sense of community at SHI as many of the sellers are young and work together but also spend time together outside the office as well. It is a place that respects potential within young talent and all of senior leadership wants to promote first from within. The average tenure within SHI is well over five years, especially those sellers who have been a part of Thai Lee's organization since the beginning in 1989. There is the potential to build true wealth by working for SHI and Thai Lee has always committed to making sure the sales people are paid handsomely for their efforts. The thing about SHI is not only a wonderful place to work, but also an incredible place to learn skills that you can replicate in roles across the tech industry. Additionally SHI has made a commitment to evolve as the technology industry evolves at a rapid pace and that has ensured a continued value offering for customers as they navigate the murky waters of how to select, deploy and manage their technology environment.

    Cons

There are no obvious cons, but at times the pace of work can overwhelm the younger employees. It is something that you get used to very quickly.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the career and learning development focus. Remember that people are the most important asset and nurturing talent within all employees is integral to a lasting legacy. Caring for employees is not necessarily a requirement for the success of a sales organization, but I do believe it ensures retention of the best employees and promotes a sense of fulfillment and purpose across any workplace. Empathy is a powerful motivator!

I have been working at SHI International full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Benefits are good, work environment is good, people are great

    Cons

Pay is insultingly low for the amount of money the company makes. Shi makes money hand over fist, they literally pay for NOTHING. Any event you've ever attended had been paid for by the vendors. They lowball employees for any kind of compensation unless you're part of the club who have been there from the beginning who all pull in RIDICULOUS salaries. They have driven away all competent employees by constantly hiring new people and driving tenured people's salary down. They are constantly hiring and they'll hire anyone. It used to be that they only hired great people and those people were paid well. Now they hire anyone and pay everyone like crap, even the people who have been here a long time and helped you're company grow. The new people they have been hitting us shocking. Very lazy, underqualified, unprofessional, frankly unintelligent. It is impossible to get fired so these people take advantage and come in late do nothing and it all just falls on the tenured people who actually know what they're doing who are now underpaid because they have to split money with these new people. They give an INSULTING 2-5% (good luck getting 5) increase each year, when standard should be closer to 7-10%.

    Advice to Management

They give the illusion that they care about employees but when push comes to shove they don't, it's all bottom line. They squeeze money out of everything they do and pass NONE of it to employees. Their current business plan is completely contradictory with their core value. The companies core value is World Class Support but instead of paying the tenured people more to retain the constant support with customers they have known for years, they hire new people who have no clue and it forces the tenured people out and it becomes a revolving door because no one cares anymore so the customers actually get terrible support.

My advice, and I hope someone high up there actually reads this because this is not to put down the company but idk if they realize how much they alienate the mid level employees. There's a good subsection of shi that have been there for 5-10 years who do decently well but not nearly as well as they should and they are the ones who the company should listen to. These people know what is really going on and will tell you the truth, LISTEN TO THEM. They aren't the low revolving door entry level idiots that are hired now and they haven't gotten into the club of high management or directors who make tons of money. They are the ones who make the company function and are completely underappreciated and underpaid.

    Pros

Lots of great young people, good culture, good benefits, nice work- life balance (mostly b/c they don't want to pay overtime), strong job security. I've honestly never seen or heard of someone getting fired.

    Cons

Low pay for this industry, no chances to earn overtime, very low growth potential. Few chances to move up. The system is designed for high turnover.

    Advice to Management

Do more to retain talent instead of constant hiring, get rid of bad employees, allow more work from home days.

    Pros

This job is laid back, no micro managing, and not a job you have to take home with you. It is not stressful.

    Cons

They pay, benefits, and PTO could be improved. Management should do a better job of motivating employees to do good work.
