I have been working at SIB Development and Consulting full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Relaxed work environment, dogs, growth, and opportunity. SIB also has this amazing Chef that cooks us gourmet lunches every day. Some say he is our MVP.

    Cons

Can't complain. I'm really happy here.

I have been working at SIB Development and Consulting full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, dog friendly, lunch provided daily, office gym, and an energetic atmosphere. Hard work is noticed and rewarded. Leadership opportunities can exist for those who show initiative. Also, a five-year loyalty bonus of $50,000 is offered to full-time employees. I just received my loyalty bonus check last month.

    Cons

A biased focus (born from the small business, fast-paced atmosphere) on short-term goals that may ignore long-term consequences. Goals and incentive structures are clearly defined, but the logic and calculations that create the targets are often poorly explained.

    Pros

You would have a hard time finding a better team to be a part of in Charleston. Not only does everybody work hard, but the comraderies are so strong that when you see pictures of people from the weekend, the are generally have a co-worker in their group. The office is great as well - very modern with a gym and a private chef that cooks incredible lunch and afternoon snacks each day. The $50,000 bonus after working here 5 years is a great perk.

    Cons

From the sales side, there is a very long sales cycle, and you're are at the mercy of vendor and client's responsiveness before your commission gets paid.

I have been working at SIB Development and Consulting full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

SIB provides a great workplace that is among the top offices in Charleston. The lunches have been talked about already, but I would add that the natural lighting, on-site gym, outdoor meeting area, and presence of other great businesses in Half Mile North are all big pluses. As for the company itself, what I like about SIB is that it's a thoroughly modern company with a nationwide scope. Professionally, Charleston can be kind of a backwater, with very few companies offering something truly innovative or different, or marketing themselves beyond a local/regional scope. SIB, while not a "start up" nor a tech company (a common misconception!), is still the kind of company you might expect to find somewhere else, in NY or SF. So it's nice being part of something in Charleston that's truly competing in the modern economy, rather than just being part of the local tourism industry or something. The company has come a long way since I started, and they really make a point to continually improve the way they operate. As a result, turnover has decreased, lots of employees have carved out good roles for themselves, and it's been a great place for several dozen young adults to start and/or advance their careers. People work together closely (at least within their departments), and really enjoy being part of the company. Management has been really focused on innovative bonus/incentive programs, and has made a conscious effort to be more transparent and get the whole company involved in the long-term growth and direction of the company.

    Cons

The workload is always pretty heavy and expectations are high. It's not a place to just get a job and try to coast; you're expected to perform from day one. On the upside, the constant growth and heavy workload means things like layoffs aren't a concern. If you're willing and able to handle it, the work will be there, and so will the opportunity to advance.

    Pros

SIB has a great work environment. The office layout is great, and is dog friendly. As long as your dog is well behaved, it gets to come to work with you. We have a great chef offering a free healthy lunch each day also. They also offer performance based bonuses.

    Cons

Would like to see more interaction between departments.

I worked at SIB Development and Consulting

    Pros

The people at the company are great. Food and chef are phenomenal and a good add-on to already lively atmosphere. Working as an intern you feel as though a contributing member of the team.

    Cons

CEO is a bit sheltered off from the rest of the company, but he's the founder so it's understandable. Other than that, I can't really think of anything!
