    Pros

This company is great for people who like working with colleagues from around the world, and the air transport industry is fascinating.

    Cons

Layers upon layers of bureaucracy make it difficult to get to quick decisions. CEO is way out of touch with needs in the geo, and there are entire solution lines that should have been sold off years ago.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your front line people when developing strategic plans, objectives and goals. Recognize that more money and staff won't change fundamental challenges with selected solutions and stop throwing good money after bad.

I have been working at SITA (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    I have a job.
HR doesn't do through background checks so it is easy to walk in as long as you stroke your Manager/leader's EGO job for life.

    Cons

Management is lacking from Manager level, CIO and upward. It is an organization ruled by politics with an HR department that is cartonish.

Values there are none when executives are said to be dating their subordinates and their manager knows it and see the action and refuses to do anything about it.

    Advice to Management

No advice to Management or HR as the only words they hear are their own. Egos are competing and it's great to watch all the hot air and fireworks.

    I worked at SITA full-time

    Pros

Sita has good benefits - medical, dental, 401K, and covered parking

    Cons

Sita has more people managing, and few people working- so nothing gets done correctly. Managers seem to be on a mission to discredit employees - even when they are good workers. This is to help them have a bell curve during review time. HR always supports management 100%. The quality of products that we sell to customers, always have problems. No one knows how to solve the problem because they are pointing their finger at someone else. Believe this happens because there is a separation of work-groups. No one is allowed to know what the other groups do. Therefore there are only a few people at Sita that can see the big picture. It is hard to trouble shoot or even function when you only know a small piece of the puzzle.

    Advice to Management

Please train and hire people who know the job. It is necessary that more people "UNDERSTAND" the complete system, or no one will find an answer as to why all of our products are failing. At 1 time Sita was respected in the airline industry. Now all of our airlines are moving to other providers. Better to have better quality, or Sita will go away. Also, Sita does not promote from within. They hire managers right off the street.

I worked at SITA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Working in the air transport IT industry is unique and exciting.

    Cons

Industry knowledge not rewarded. Too many technical decisions are made by non-technical management.

    Advice to Management

    Change the ratio and adapt.

    Pros

Vacation & 401K. Health benefits are eroding and more expensive each year - so going from good to much less so. Opportunity to work with many brilliant persons word-wide

    Cons

Bureaucratic. No pay raises to speak of (hiding behind "total compensation BS" in pay analysis) Constant reorgs where valuable people leave and inept ones remain. Too much politics. Too much UK/Europe influence in spheres where knowledge should be more local. Too much top-down structure. No employee advocate in HR.

    Advice to Management

STOP with this fit-for-growth nonsense. You have dealt the company an irreparable blow by letting go of excellent talent under the guise of optimisation. Stop having the tail (support functions) wag the dog (customer-facing functions). And most of all, stop with the endless internal analysis and start focusing on external factors like where our customers are going.

    Pros

    Lots of room for advancement
    Good pay and bonus structure

    Cons

    Disorganized
One arm forces another to do work that hurts one arm but helps the other
As year end approaches, revenue rules regardless of customer satisfaction

    Advice to Management

Make a best of class product, give developers time to make it.

    Pros

Work / Home balance is nice - though it is not on par with many of the smaller companies.

Pay is on par with regional averages.

    Cons

    Limited growth opportunities, non-innovative.

Executive teams are often out of touch with current market trends in technology.

Company is slow to react and adopt modern practices.

Executive Management Team does not care nor listen to the employees. Annual reviews of employee sentiment are responded to with criticism and cynical emails to those who participate.

    Advice to Management

Remove your executive management team and replace it with individuals that are in touch with reality.

    Pros

Everyone is pretty good at their job; there's no dead-weight employees that I can tell.

    Cons

Poor communication between departments and different groups.
It seems the unofficial goal is "brow-beat someone until it goes done." The end-goal is the only goal, regardless of what people need to do to get it done, even if the issue was their own lack of planning.
