Energy from Waste June 2015
Jun 2, 2015 - Technical Plant Engineer in Wilton, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Fantastic career opportunities, excellent vision, strategy and values. Feels graet working for a company that positively promote the circular economy and play and active part in implementing it into the business. The basic salary may not be as lucrative as other companies but the benefit package is good and job security is fantastic.
Cons
Due to a massive expansion over the last few years it is recognised that parts of the company are playing catch up in terms of buisness systems, IT, HR etc.

Vast company with promise of career progression
Feb 11, 2015 - Work In Shared Services Office In the South West in Weston-super-Mare, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Having heard about SITA from a friend I applied for a position not really knowing much about the waste industry. My interview was really interesting and I am so surprised by how vast the company is and how many ways there are to "give waste a second life", the manager I met with was enthusiastic and I left feeling a real enthusiasm for the company and where my career can go within it. They seem to have a lot of long time serving staff who has progressed through the company so I am really hopeful that I will have the same opprtunities to grow and develop within the company. Once you get used to where all the various facilities are and who is the manager for where it is a great place to work so far and everyone has been super helpful!
Cons
Some the systems are a little dated and take a bit of time to get used to but thankfully IT are very supportive

Experience depends on your line manager
Oct 22, 2015 - in London, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great company that invests in its employees (if you have a line manager who is supportive) If you have a great line managers then it is a great place to work. Good work is identified and praised. Part of a larger group so opportunities to move around the group / world Very generous expenses policy if you have to stay away from home. Senior management communicate with all employees showing that they are real people after all
Cons
Salary below average and benefits have to compensate to "boost" the overall package. Certain regions operate on a who you know, not what you know basis. Senior management do not always get a true reflection of the grass roots of the business. Some incidents tend to get brushed under the carpet instead of being dealt with.

Challenging but a real desire to improve.
Aug 1, 2015 - Business Assistant in London, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
If your looking for a challenging role? Then most positions within SITA will accommodate that. Great employee benefits and a real understanding of family outside of work. Different group (all backgrounds) of people to work and learn with. There is a real desire of change, which is refreshing. Constant flow of learning due to nature of business.
Cons
Slow with innovation within systems (though getting better). Due to size, communication from within region can be slow. Training is far too much role play (though more of a personal level).

Pros
SITA UK is a very engaging company with an open door policy. I have worked here for several years and progressed through the company in several different roles. The training I have received in the company has been excellent, SITA UK have their own training department which I have found to be very professional. I will continue to work for SITA UK as I have no issues or problems with any of my management teams.
Cons
None to date. an excellent company to work for.

AS AND WHEN NEEDED
Dec 19, 2015 - Anonymous in Morecambe, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Very little pros from this title, is of a true opinion from me with this firm, this title gives an employer no recognition to the difficulty's caused by this kind of contract , the pressure to for-fill this role in call out to cover sites are not recognized by other full time members in their working procedures as key players, also the feeling is of the same from supervisors.
Cons
In my reality experienced, this title is being abused, or can be on , its who one knows ! Example, if one did not turn up on a call and demand , unlikely to get another call, until one has felt its intimidation in a months wages showing , what I am trying to point out to management is of great concerns unforeseen.

Never two days the same in a dynamic and forward thinking business
Mar 16, 2015 - Human Resources Manager in Maidenhead, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The culture is excellent and focusses on the development of the individual throughout. Open and collaborative, the business has a clear vision on where it needs to be in the future and the type of people it needs to get there
Cons
The business is extremely diverse and there are parts of the business where a 'long in the tooth, I'll never change attitude exists'. These long serving (one year of experience just repeated twenty times) stalwarts need to change or be changed

Jobs for the boys
Apr 24, 2016 - Senior Manager in Maidenhead, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The parent company and associated businesses, plus the existing infrastructure provide a basis provide an industry leading overall service provision.
Cons
The lack of clear strategy, the silo culture, the overwhelming perception of a failing senior management team who are only interested in their own interests, the lack of activity, under compensation and over expectation of the staff, (expect if you are amongst the senior management team) and manipulation of the you say employee engagement - why spend all that time, money and effort if you don't act in the feedback??!! SITA / Suez could be a really good company, but needs a clean sweep from the top down - Suez France - take action whilst you still have a UK business!!

Pros
Good worki ethics, ability to work from any locations or from home. I soon realised I. Was not just a payroll number but an actual person. They went beyond my expectations and helped me.
Cons
Difficult to get into the career path I had chosen, job title kept changing yet it was the same job I had been employed to do.
