I worked at SK Telecom as an intern

    Pros

Really good culture and constant attempt to better the atmosphere at work. Really enjoyed the people here.

    Cons

The management did not understand the constraints well and would demand easy answers to data when none exists. Frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Learn to understand the basics of data analysis as to understand that there are limits and that noise is a huge part of dats analytics.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at SK Telecom full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Has a positive working environment with flexible hours, team and company-wide activities, and an innovative work culture. The culture is particularly unique for a Korean company. There are on-going initiatives to encourage debate among teams, and between management and executives. Lively discussions are encouraged, even among those with wide age gaps.

    Cons

Projects can start and stop abruptly. At times leaders lack domain expertise (although they are very knowledgeable and insightful), and there can be more report writing than some would like although there are efforts to reduce paperwork and the result is typically a strong concensus which can aid in execution. In the Korea office) it can be a challenge to participate without at least moderately good Korean language skills.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work innovating the work culture, continue the emphasis on honest projections and solid data-driven results, but also seek to break the burden on execs to favor big initiatives with long lead times and higher capital risks.
