I worked at SLK Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Good for talented people who want to work all the time and have no guts to share ideas, don't ask questions, laugh when asked, sit when asked, stand when asked.
    - Client respects and appreciates individuals contribution, family time and work balance. However, SLK managers dump more offshore dumb resources to deal with and make you work more.
    - It is a perk if you get a good team lead or developer under you. You have to work for it.
    - Managers answer to emails only if it is titled "Billing", "Good Job", "Congratualations".

    Cons

    - No cons unless you asking for anything.
    - Ask for raise, you are targetted for next replacement
    - Ask for rational for appraisal rating, you are targetted for remarks and blames
    - Ask for at least average developers to work with, you are targetted as incompetent leader
    - Ask a question in stand up comedy session of CEO, VP, AVP, you are targetted for not being loyal to seniors
    - Rating of 4.5 + out of 5.0 is below normal, ask for reason you would be rerated to 4.0

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good job. You have successfully induced next generation dumb squad to run the company.

    Pros

There are some very talented techies stuck in this place. Great working with them. Great future if you know the spelling of YES BOSS.

    Cons

Key Sr. managers leaving both in BLR and also at the Client locations- short notice - due to opinion differences with Top mgmt. only old time chelas sticking.

    Advice to Management

Need transparency and fairness. Revenue is not all.

I have been working at SLK Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Was taking care of employees and there was value for being an old employee.

    Cons

Now only concentrate on revenue generation. Who is adding bodies to project. No concentration on quality. The culture is getting down from top of the management. Clients are unhappy and started looking beyond SLK. A downward going company who stays in its old pride.

    Advice to Management

Concentrate on quality and resource, business will come automatically.

    Pros

Good exposure working for Banking clients in the United States.

    Cons

Thought you get really good feedbacks from your customers, you need to be nicer to the management and most importantly need to speak their language to consider you for any promotion or other monetary benefits.

    Advice to Management

Please stick to the facts which were promised during the on boarding process.

"Weird Company with home grown selfish Senior management Team"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at SLK Group full-time

    Pros

    They pay salary on time
Train you how to survive in the tough Recession even though industry is currently in boom
Best company for freshers as SLK thinks Seniors are use less and also take more money. Also, they want to keep freshers for only 2 years (bond period), train them well and show them door.
Very good company if you are not a technical person.
If you are a YES Boss guy, you can survive.

    Cons

Have incorporated one of the best cost optimization Technics in world. Following are some examples
    1. They don't lit all lights to save electricity.
    2. They open canteens for 1 hour only during lunch hours
    3. If employees come late, they need to take 1/2 day leave or LOP. This is very strict
    4. When employees goes to bench, usually they will receive the WORST feedback to make sure they are kicked out within a month to save salaries.
    5. Company is always looking for fresh blood, so they follow use and throw/Hire and Fire policy

    New Ideas being worked on
    1. All manual testers are being ill treated and are encouraged to go out on their own. Otherwise, they will be kicked out in next couple of months
    2. Tech Lead / Team Lead and above would be kick out in next 2 to 3 months and it would become Fresher's heaven to save cost.
    3. Each person will be given multiple projects to make sure company earns more and spend less.
    4. Harsher bond schemes are being worked on to retain who they want and kick out others at their will
    5. Technical people are considered as commodities/labours. They see more value with Support team.
