I worked at SNC-Lavalin full-time for more than 8 years

      Pros

Great benefits. Training available, employee share program is excellent. Great mid level talent. Culturally Diverse, great place to gain experience

      Cons

If you are not from Quebec/French it is difficult to progress in management as Head Office colonizes the Business Units across the country and projects with buddies from Montreal.

I worked at SNC-Lavalin full-time for more than a year

      Pros

In house training is available, but very little support is available for this training. They have a good program for taking training courses outside the company. Compensation matches the industry and the share purchase/matching program is excellent.

      Cons

Big Company with lots of standards and practises that no on seems to understand completely causing confusion and competing views on even process which should be considered standard practices.

I have been working at SNC-Lavalin full-time for more than a year

      Pros

In the time I worked there,I found the Safety Group to be genuine, honest and truly concerned about the workers welfare on the job.

      Cons

The division I worked for is considered a "renegade" group. That which was on offer at time of hiring turned out to be less than true, which was compounded by the large helping of BS served with ti all. Blatant disregard for company wide policies / procedures that other divisions were required to follow. On field assignments, no budget was issued, no staffing plan, no infrastructure set up ( company had the project in...

      Advice to Management

Revamp this division. Get some PM's that are living in the 21st. century Policies and procedures are flouted daily - makes a mockery of the company slogan "We Care" the complete opposite is true More transparency is needed - no one is fooled by ridiculous lies. The pervasive secrecy and creation of PM's empire's
