I worked at SNC-Lavalin full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Great team. Good flexibility in terms of working hours. More than adequate pay with great benefits.

      Cons

Being a very big company, going up the corporate ladder will take time. Less flexibility if on personnel loan (contract at client's site).

      Advice to Management

The Youth Leadership/Talent programs are awesome!

I have been working at SNC-Lavalin full-time for more than 8 years

      Pros

      - Can experience many fields (Oil & Gas, Mining, Nuclear, Transportation) if you're willing to transfer between divisions -

      Cons

      - Just like any other EPCM, in a downturn, it's hard to maintain the job regardless of experience - Depends if your boss like you. If so, you'll get good increases. If not, you can try all you want, but still get an average raise

      Advice to Management

      Cut back on nepotism

I have been working at SNC-Lavalin full-time for more than 5 years

      Pros

Overall compensation package is competitive. SNC provides a good work/life balance.

      Cons

Senior management does not understand its people. Montreal headquarters imposing unrealistic structure to satellite offices.

      Advice to Management

Listen to your people; they see a lot from the front lines than management does. Stop treating them like numbers. As this continues, employees will leave. Undermining from management has lead to burn-out of employees and their inevitable departure.
