I worked at SNC-Lavalin full-time for more than 8 years

      Pros

When the industrial markets are doing well, there is a lot of opportunity to excel at SNC-Lavalin. International travel too! Learning new cultures and languages. For the most part the company has done a good job of ensuring that the cultural consistency from location to location remains intact in terms of brand and business practices. SNC does a great job of making you feel like you are a part of something awesome...

      Cons

Sometimes the ones in charge are not "employees" but are contractors that make it difficult for you to do things "The SNC-Lavalin Way". This adds unnecessary stress and confusion and can lead to layoffs of top talent.

      Advice to Management

Take a better look at your long-service employees that have not exhausted their capabilities and full potential on a company wide basis, and offer them opportunities to grow elsewhere within the organization. This will help you retain highly skilled employees that have their heart in the right place and could become the future of the organization.
