Reviews about "fast paced"

Pros
Fast-paced tech environment that enables you to learn tons and work for a startup with a purpose and a name in Malaysia. Exciting projects and upcoming initiatives which is great to be part of. Very collaborative environment from the ground up until the team lead level. There's a lot of place for personal initiative and it's very appreciated.
Cons
Depending on the team, there's quite a bunch of finger-pointing instead of 'let's fix this' mindset. It feels that there's a competition between teams so that god forbid anyone says that someone else is not doing their job. Politics and conflicts within and management and between HODs often spill out on other team members. Too many meetings in a day that leave you no time for proper focus on actual work, so when you are at a manager level and urgent things are piling up, you end up working at night quite often. This is contributed to by the fact that big projects are launched without proper planning, things are piling up without proper management of people's time and resources, and zero consideration to employee work-life balance. Most of the times when the CEO says something, everyone has to jump up and run, regardless whether the request is reasonable or not.

Cons

Pros
My team is super supportive and will help whenever help is needed even if it is not within their job scope. It is very fast-paced and the company is at a growth spurt stage which gives new things to learn every day. My team leaders are very understanding and friendly, and 1:1 discussions with leaders are a consistent practice to focus on career growth. The career conversations are never set aside no matter how busy they are. No problems with WFH, there is constant communication and trust that allows this kind of flexibility. It is very diverse as there are so many different nationalities that give an international experience in a local company.
Cons
Sprint mode is not for everyone. I end up working overtime almost every day and it is hard to get work off my mind. Large percentage of the company is young, hence lack experience in some areas that leave us fumbling in the dark. A lot of streamlining between departments have yet to be done so it can be frustrating. People tend to use start up as an excuse to do things in random ways. But despite wanting to increase flexibility and speed as a start up, process streamlining seems to make things more complicated and more levels of approval required. The constant change in direction, pace and pressure leads to high turnover even at senior levels which ends up management throwing money to get them to stay. Most of learning is on the job, there is no proper training program on the ground yet. Things are messy, but if you can adapt and overcome, you can grow.

Pros
Fast-Paced Challenging and learning happens really fast Exposed to many challenges in the mobility space
Cons
Growth pains, from startup to corporate organization. Top-heavy culture. Wish teams were more flat to have more collaboration.
- Current Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Very fast paced environment and you get to experience real exponential growth Smart people and teammates to learn from Personal impact - you make decisions, you execute and you get to measure the impact Exposure to analytical training. Management is fairly numbers driven and you get good training here. Real ownership - you really get to own a budget and be responsible for your own results and achievements. Minimal interference especially if you deliver the numbers.
Cons
Stretched targets and aggressive culture can lead to burn out if you don't know how to manage your stress No formal learning and development programme in place yet which means alot of self learning is involved. Some teams get it while others don't. You need to always be switched on - even if you're not in the office, you're expected to be available to tend to requests or solve problems if there are "fires" to fight.
