I worked at SPi Healthcare (More than a year)

    Pros

I cannot think of any at all except it gave me a bare minimum check until I found a better position.

    Cons

Management is not educated or professional; biased, power trips, and no training. It was based on productivity and they treat you like you are a citizen of North Korea. The pay is about $12- $13 for AR follow up. The ignorance and power trips were the worst part of the job though.

    Advice to Management

Stop being a poor example to employees by being biased. Managers should have some kind of degree (at least an Associate's) so they know how to treat people. This is a company that supposedly contracts with hospitals & healthcare providers but yet their clients do not know that SPi outsources their work to 3rd world countries for slave labor wages.

    Pros

Gained a lot of experience to move on and the benefits were great.

    Cons

Turn around in the customer service dept was high! Bad work environment and older employees did not help and support the new employees.

    Advice to Management

Make sure that all employees feel comfortable in the work environment and management should make sure there is support for everyone from everyone. Also need to provide more training for new employees.

    Pros

Relatively small company with family atmosphere. Employee recognition and incentives. Good pay and benefits.

    Cons

Recent acquisition by Conifer Health Solutions has led to multiple layoffs.

    Advice to Management

Need to fight harder to keep good workers.

I worked at SPi Healthcare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are great to work with. Everyone comes to work to do their job. It made the atmosphere more enjoyable.

    Cons

A lot of outside management changes. The pressure to continue to keep extremely high net gains year and after had taken the toll on employees.

    Advice to Management

The management lost sight on how to keep employees happy and engaged. By constantly cutting things of small value to employees, such as company picnic, merit increases, and annual bonus, it made work feel very heavy. Please keep employees feeling valued.

    Pros

Upward mobility. Friendly staff. East to be left alone to work if you need to.

    Cons

A lot of random layoffs, particularly at the management level, leaving departments in a state of disarray.

    Advice to Management

Consider long-term goals for the company.

I have been working at SPi Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Management and coworkers are supportive and encouraging. We are given opportunities to use our skills and grow professionally. We share ideas to find the best solutions to problems and help out anyone who is struggling. We take time to get to know each other and laugh to keep our spirits and work energy up.

    Cons

Time off for holidays is very limited--just the actual holiday--we don't get the days before Christmas and New Year's and the days after Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year's off--people are less likely to be as productive on these days anyway so... Pay scales are too low. Mandatory deductions for STD & LTD--should be voluntary. Sick days not taken should be used as an incentive to work by giving an option of a restricted payout if not used. 401k employer match could be higher.

    Advice to Management

    So far so good!
