    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at SS&C full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great Hours, from 8:15am to 5:30pm

    Cons

Too much politics in the company and you can only get promoted or transfer to another group if you know someone. Your knowledge of financial services doesn't mean anything in this company.

    Advice to Management

Stop creating work for employees that doesn't have an end result.

    I worked at SS&C full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

None, they have bagels once a week

    Cons

The worst place ever, all they do is Micro-mange, management has is dictated by how many years you have been there and not by intelligence. They have a our way or highway attitude not open to learning or new ideas. Very poor corporate culture and they have no qualms about making excuses for their poor platform and technolgy

    Advice to Management

Invest in the people in the company and learn how to actually promote growth within the company

    Pros

    Great Benefits
    Pay was pretty good
    Well established clients
    Small market they sold to

    Cons

The software code is very old and there are no plans to update
Management was terrible, they did not care what was going on as long as there was a profit
No back office support(i.e Marketing, finance, Development, etc)
Their form of growth is acquisitions.

    Advice to Management

Reinvest in your software or it will die.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at SS&C full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Advancement in technology, experience of their employees, and the improvement of their processes has allowed SS&C to be a leader in the hedge fund administration workspace.

    Cons

Management has little to no mentoring at the company. Most open positions are filled externally with little internal promotion above manager level.

    Advice to Management

When projects are rolled out there is minimal training for the masses. It's mostly a learn as you go approach. Management should also have a minimum of four meetings with staff throughout the year to promote discussion.

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Casual dress code, laptop to work from home

    Cons

No standardized training provided to staff, very long hours, horrible morale, culture of FEAR, deceitful management practices, zero honest communication to staff.

My boss' boss shows up for work 1 day a week and (except for one) directors come in late and leave early, but we are expected to maintain 50+ hour weeks.

No training given to managers on how to manage; people are put in management roles because they are good at production or haven't quit after 3 years.

Staff are thrown into the fire and expected to succeed or fail on their own; turnover is outrageous.

Review ratings are inconsistent and I was told we had to have some staff listed as "underperforming" in order to conform to some corporate projected trend; despite their performance. Horrible.

    Advice to Management

Honestly, the worst run organization I have ever worked at in 10+ years. Cannot wait to get out of here.
