    I worked at SS&G full-time

    Pros

    Great people to work with.

    Cons

Low pay, always short staffed because the numbers had to show we needed another person until they would even start a search (so we were always short staffed), work/life balance was quickly disappearing, low 401k match, partners are out of touch.

    Advice to Management

Find out what's really going on with your people.

    I worked at SS&G full-time

    Pros

    Strong Growth means more opportunities
    Challenging work
Directors that are willing to work with you
Many professionals with different backgrounds to assist client situations

    Cons

There is a strong focus on the growth of the firm, which is good and bad. The good is the opportunities for growth in the organization. The bad is offices can sometimes lag behind in hiring staff as the firm grows leaving others to pick up the additional work and hours needed to get everything done.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within. There are several really great people there.

I have been working at SS&G full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Certain partners promote your personal growth and development (others not as much). Senior leadership focused on direction of company and excited about future. Expansion to new markets.

    Cons

Disconnect between vision of senior leadership and daily execution. Staff not respected by administrative staff and processes are too bureaucratic. Culture is kiss up and kick down. Compensation is below market and not discussed.

    Advice to Management

Improve communication and promote respect between all levels of the organization. Administrative policies negatively impact the culture.

    I have been working at SS&G full-time

    Pros

The career opportunities at SS&G are endless. The company encourages professional development at every staff level, including networking and client interaction even at the associate level. If you want to move up in the company, there are numerous opportunities to volunteer for leadership roles within the firm. Suggestions for every aspect of the client engagement or even firm procedures are welcomed by management which makes the employees feel connected to SS&G and feel as though they are directly aiding in the company's growth. The firm expands each year and becomes noticeably more active in developing their niches. The work life balance is significantly better than some firms, but there is still room to improve. Overall, it's an exciting time to be a part of SS&G.

    Cons

The company is growing very fast and is still learning how to be a cohesive unit and manage all offices effectively.

I have been working at SS&G full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers are great, there are good options for young staff such as the Young Professionals Initiative. A lot of ways to increase your knowledge with seminars/conferences etc. The clientel is also good to work with. There are also fun events going on all the time with the company.

    Cons

401(k) match could be better, many others I know in the industry have better 401(k) matching from their employer.

    Cons

There are no cons only opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Continue to grow and develop the future leaders of our organization and empower them along their way.
