I worked at SSCG Media Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Interactive and fun office environment!

    Cons

I guess the only con is that sometimes it can be hard to book a private room for a meeting, because you're sharing the space with other agencies. However, there's quite a lot of space for meetings outside of a private room--so you'll be sure to get a meeting done successfully regardless!

    great place to advance career

    Cons

some managers are horrible not cut out to manage, training is kind of throw everything against the wall and see what sticks

    Advice to Management

less unilateral management control, better training

I worked at SSCG Media Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You'll make good friends and get a good understanding of the industry

    Cons

    - Upper management is unprofessional, gossipy, immature, and disrespectful (rude, inappropriate remarks and comments)... and they aren't that smart
    - Upper management have all been there so long they have little to offer in terms of being mentors or teaching new young professionals - most are not intelligent nor do they have experience outside of this very small, very non-innovative agency
    - Little ability to grow
    - Most full-time employees are looking to get out or are just plain miserable
    - Outdated technology, behind the curve in the industry, niche industry (pharma)
    - Very high turnover and little to no training so lower-level employees are stuck training people all of the time

I have been working at SSCG Media Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Diverse group of team members with different backgrounds. Extremely supportive agency full of people who are willing to hear out your ideas and work hard to get them into fruition.

The most "human" agency I have ever worked at with LESS gossip and backstabbing than any other place I've ever seen. People act more like friends than colleagues and it is a very positive environment.

Agency has a variety of top tier clients in the pharmaceutical space, all with different needs. You will definitely not be bored by the work!

Senior leadership shows passion for what they do and adamantly care about work/life balance for the rest of the agency.

Also comes with a number of small but nice perks:

    - Free Drinks (SoHo Office)
    - Bagel Wednesdays
    - Gym Discounts
    - Cab Service for client meetings and late nights
    - Free Corporate Seamless Account if you have to work a late night

    Cons

Outdated Office (2010), Dated Presenting Materials, IT Support

I have been working at SSCG Media Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Promotes work life balance with a strong support system in place for training and career growth. Culture at the Soho office is great to be a part of and everyone has a team mentality to get sh*t done but also leave time for lots of laughs.

    Cons

IT support, need space for growth

I have been working at SSCG Media Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Made some great friends, worked on some small pharma accounts that expanded my healthcare knowledge.

    Cons

    - upper management is AWFUL
    - hours are awful - 11-14 hour days easily + weekends + vacation
    - not much room for growth - you will be an coordinator for at least 1.5 years (making 35k)
    - falling behind on the digital curve

    Advice to Management

    - BE TRANSPARENT
    - BE RESPECTABLE
    - BE HELPFUL
    - LISTEN
    - BE REAL HUMAN BEINGS

I worked at SSCG Media Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay is decent, location in Soho is pretty nice with beverages stocked in the kitchen when compared to the other Midtown location. Only positives that really stand out.

    Cons

You don't manage anyone as a manager. Terrible scopes of work are in place with no work life balance. Work from 9 am to 7/8 pm every day where you need to ask permission to leave work, or you will be scrutinized. You will not be able to take your vacation days or even holidays without working during that period.

    Advice to Management

Leadership is oblivious as to how DMO, Search and Analytics works. They love to say that people stay at SSCG for a very long time, but it is not true - I have seen many people leave, whether they are fired or forced out. Management shouldn't be working from home 4/5 days of the work week. 7 Females on the Leadership team that protect each other, are cliquey and are where they are due to tenure.

I have been working at SSCG Media Group full-time

    Pros

I have been working at SSCG for over 2 years and my experience here has been wonderful so far. This place has a great culture and the people are extremely great to work with. Upper management ensures that employees are well informed about current happenings and future plans of the organization. The work life balance is great and I would recommend SSCG to anyone.

    Cons

Career growth could sometimes be hard since it is not only dependent on performance but also the team structure and other things which could lead people to look for other opportunities.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

    Pros

My peers were amazing people who made even the most strssful days at SSCG bearable.

    Cons

I felt that mid-upper management was very "cliquey". Just like in Highschool, If you weren't liked by your supervisors on a personal level, you will not last long.

    Advice to Management

Just because people have senority and have worked with the agency for many years, doesn't mean that they provide quality work or representation of the agency. The gossip in the office is horrific; incessant and childish. In my opinion it is the people who seem to be "midlevel", are the ones who have the most power trips in the work environment. Instead of approaching you about questions or comments they "taddle" on you to upper management. Again, if you aren't liked by the rest of the "wolf pack", they will go against you and tear you up until you get fired or quit.

    Pros

Small agency vibe with the resources of a big company. Upper management are smart and compassionate about their employees. Very niche industry that you can become an expert in fairly quickly. Great benefits, especially in terms of paid time off.

    Cons

Mid-level management is very green, and so direct manager may not provide the right amount of structure/support/etc. Work hours can be very inconsistent, depending on the whims of clients.
