    Pros

    Co-workers were the best.
Fun work culture because of Travel related field.
    Some Travel Perks
This was a fun job and I made many lifelong friends.

    Cons

    Pay could be better
Travel Perks could be better. I did the majority of my travel after I left company with the resources and vendor contacts I made.
The Travel industry keeps shrinking due to advancements with online booking travel sites.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like G Adventures treats their employees and you'll have less of a turnover.

I worked at STA Travel full-time

    Pros

    Great travel benefits
    Large amounts of PTO
    Fun coworkers
    Free trips
    Incredible work atmosphere
    Awesome Holiday parties

    Cons

Lousy pay. Leadership has no clue of what they are doing. They decided to move operations overseas which greatly affected customer service.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to manage people and understand that you have an exceptional staff who don't mind working for less, but should be treated with respect and class.

I worked at STA Travel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Discounts on travel and excursions; somewhat friendly atmosphere amongst coworkers in the office; feels rewarding helping students and volunteers reach their destinations abroad

    Cons

At the Chandler, Arizona location: incompetent, negligent managers who have no problem setting others below them up for failure; insincere, unfair supervisor; undependable, clueless HR representative; plus: favoritism, sexism, unprofessionalism, broken-down computer systems, unpredictable phone system, not enough sales agents for the impossible amount of work to get through so everybody's stressed out and spread so thin all of the time, etc. It doesn't matter if you're a team player - you won't get credit for that. Must be all out for yourself because only individual sales count. Don't try too hard to help potential travelers - just be fake to them as if you care, quickly make your numbers and move on to the next one. You better hurry up because some customers calling in are waiting on hold for 30 minutes ...

    Advice to Management

I would but when I previously did they got irritated and touchy. Regardless, I would advise them to treat equivalents equally. When you get two new hires, guide both of them together. In case one of the two doesn't start off as strongly as the other, don't give up on them if they falter while instead just working on helping the excelling one.

I worked at STA Travel full-time

    Pros

New management that wanted to modernize the business. Great colleagues. Nice work environment. Great travel perks.

    Cons

The UK headquarters doesn't understand the US culture/customer and made it difficult for the management team in the US to make necessary changes to meet the needs of our customers.
