The company allows certain poor leadership with bad management style in charge of key departments

I worked at STAAR Surgical full-time

    Pros

Established market leader in lens implants with decent products.

    Cons

Too much reliance on consultants with not so strong medical device exposure. Multiple standards in interpreting FDA regulations and validations (again due to the lack of experience) even at management level!

    No bonus for employees.

    Advice to Management

Don't expect the consultants to run your business. Hire, empower and retain internal dedicated experienced resources.

    Pros

There is only one good thing about staar. The other workers.

    Cons

Not getting help from a supervisor or manager when needed. doing the job of two or three people. Out of dated systems and procedures. Some employees are "untouchable" no matter what problems they cause. While the rest get the blame.

    Advice to Management

Provide opportunities to move up within the company. Get help for the "lower" departments. They need more staff.
