I have been working at STERIS full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Very family orientated company. They have excellent insurance, good vacation time, sick time, a scholarship fund for employee children and yearly raises

    Cons

Takes a long time for design changes to take affect. Not enough opportunities to earn extra money on commission or bonuses.

I worked at STERIS full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

They were good when they were in Erie.

    Cons

Under current leadership they are getting rid of older more expensive employees. They don't get their severance unless they sign a waiver. I know of several people that recently (within last 2 yrs) had this happen to them. CEO goes to bat for bad VP level leaders and will not stick up for lower level employees. Can't trust HR as they will stab you in the back while doing VPs dirty work. This is while CEO makes... million$ and donates money to the Cleveland Zoo with his name on it. They took a 100 year old US company located in Erie PA, (American Sterilizer) laid off 400 US workers and moved it to Mexico, while there was plenty of land at the Montgomery AL plant to build and stay in the USA. Later they moved the corporate HQ to the UK and now to Ireland. They saved $30M - taken from the American people in the form of taxes. Un-American!

    Advice to Management

Become more respectful of your more experienced employees and quit eliminating their jobs. Move the corporate HQ back to America and get out of Mexico.

I worked at STERIS full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The CEO seems like he really cares for the employee.

    Cons

Management looks to cut pay in long-time loyal workers, by "Cleaning out the higher pay then restructure to lower with same requirements?" Toxic workplace, scare tactics. Mentor Ohio.

    Advice to Management

The balance between management to hourly is "One Sided" Management see's employee's as "Disposable Labor".

I worked at STERIS full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Stable employment. Predictable schedule. Good home life balance. I worked there for over 15 years advanced pretty far. Employees are treated well.

    Cons

Once you are high enough in the food chain, it gets very political. If your allies fallout of favor it gets cold. Employees who have been there 20 plus years keep hoping for the good ole days of 30% raises and perks of when it was a small company. Then complain that the company got rid of the sporting event suites.

    Advice to Management

Bring the headquarters back to Mentor. You moved to it technically to the UK to avoid taxes. Pretty un American.
