I have been working at STL Technology Partners full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with and to work for.

    Cons

Benefits could be a bit better, but in this day and age, just to have benefits available is pretty nice.

    Pros

Good way to gain personal experience, Management does not constantly hover over you, Learned a lot about the in's and out's of business while I was there

    Cons

Poor management, EXTREMELY high turnover rate, Not very well organized, Executives/managers are dishonest with employees (and customers) in many respects

    Advice to Management

Provide better and more up-to-date training. Have more respect for employees and clients. Focus more on how to do business well/provide exceptional service rather than how to make the most money off of clients and employees.

I worked at STL Technology Partners full-time

    Pros

They have connections with employers because they have delivered on staffing requirements.

    Cons

As a general rule, recruiters tend to oversell roles. STL is worse than average on being truthful about roles in my opinion. Do not believe anything that they tell you unless it is in writing and double-check that their promises echo what the client is offering. As I look back at the role and how they described it, it was night vs day.

    Advice to Management

    Tell the truth

    Pros

There are no pros that come with being a contractor at STL.

When compared to other staffing agencies, there is nothing better about working for STL.

There are however many things worse about working for STL when compared.

    Cons

STL offers low pay by comparison.

STL offers basic or no benefits.

    STL has difficulty processing checks.

Employees at all levels of STL are rude.

STL will make pseudo job offers.

    Advice to Management

Senior executives at STL will send a text message to personal phones, instead of placing a phone call, to back out of offers they committed to stand by and honor just one hour beforehand.

After the message is sent, they will block the number.

Treat people with respect and have more integrity.

    Pros

    - The company leaves you alone while you work on site at the client. Other contracting firms have a tendency to check up on you often but STL leaves you alone as long as everything is operating smoothly.

    - Good Benefits for a consulting firm

    Cons

    - Only 7 days off for your first year.
    - Lack of feedback/ low growth potential

I worked at STL Technology Partners full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's not very often you get a first hand view of how to not run a business. I got to have that experience working at STL Technology Partners. The owners "The Norman Family" has their staff of indentured servants that have been on the payroll for years and do a great job of attending endless meetings. If you have little talent or skills apply here... there's a good chance you can have secure employment just by "being a part of the family".

    Cons

If you have any talent, drive, or want to get paid a commission on anything you sell this is not a place to work. The entire company is based of living off of State Farm revenue and trying to keep the owners fragile ego healthy. There is a very low ceiling and there are no mentors to teach anything besides how to brown nose.

    Advice to Management

Tim... The sky may be the limit but your nose in buried in Ed Rusts backside.
