    Pros

We always turned a great product. The company was like a big family. Compensation and benefits packages were above average for the area.

    Cons

The facility was older and no upgrades on the horizon. There was always a cyclic focus on cost and would come and go frequently. Doubts about the plant staying open and finally closed.

    Advice to Management

I would have said to invest more on the location. The factory turned the best yielding products in the company consistently. Should have expanded operations in the US instead of offshoring.

    Pros

Raises, Bonuses, Morale, MGMT, people. Working for this company is a huge loss for many people. Many discounts to sporting events, hair salons, and many other things.

    Cons

Company went overseas leaving thousands unemployed.

    Advice to Management

    N/A

I worked at STMicroelectronics full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good (but not great) Semiconductor company. If you are better than average you can truly shine at this company. Lots of opportunities to learn, travel, assume new responsibilities. Some very good mentoring. Good pay at the right level and at the right location(s).

    Cons

Very few non-Europeans make it to top management. Still a very French/Italian culture company. Company continues to manage the same old fashioned way.

    Advice to Management

Need new (young) blood in management. The company needs to be more forward looking and take chances as needed.
