    Pros

Lots of free time (for those who wants to get salary for doing nothing).
    Supportive HR.

    Cons

Avg. salary hike (very nominal since last 2 years)
If you have 4+ year of experience but you don't know dirty politics, you are in a big mess.
No growth as managers do not leave ST.
    No learning.

    Advice to Management

Advise for Middle Management : Do not consider people as fool, they have got better brain.

Advise for Top Management: Please put a watchdog for the malpractices being executed by Middle Management.

    Pros

    Nobody will ever get fired
    Safe environment to experiment
    Work life balance
    Salary every month

    Cons

    Nothing is time-bound
Pays the lowest possible on the market, no perks except for directors
No development nor career opportunities except for directors
    Eternally cutting costs

    Advice to Management

Less politics and more leadership. Hire competent people, don't be afraid of smart brains. If you want to gain market share, hire real sales and marketing professionals, don't let engineers take these positions

I have been working at STMicroelectronics full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I talk here only about the digital sector, the one I work in.
Potentially one could do lots of interesting work in STM on leading edge projects.

    Cons

Management has often really no idea of what it is doing from a technical point of view.
Lots of money are wasted on losing investments, such as CMOS technologies, only to preserve jobs in France and Italy, for political reasons.
Careers are often based on personal relationship and/or seniority, not on real merits.
It is also very difficult to remove unsuccessful managers, often they are left without real responsibilities, but keeping their salary.

    Advice to Management

Resign. Hoping substitutes are real businessmen, and not politicians in disguise.

I worked at STMicroelectronics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Some groups work on the cutting edge developments, interesting if you work in those groups.
Otherwise it is just a permanent job with a bad salary

    Cons

Never met so many bad people in a single job environment. It seems some of them don't really go to
their office to work but just to fill their life up.

Biased promotion and increment. Political place.

    Advice to Management

Stop recommending your wives as employees, they are better of as housewives. Not contributing to work yet hold high position for many many years

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at STMicroelectronics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Learning and using the latest technology

    Cons

Management, HR that spouted the company line permanently - didnt listen to employees.
Complete dis-interest in recognising staff achievements - unless you were in the design team.

Lack of pay rises and promotions, lower grade staff had minimal increases, enough to keep them on the bottom of the band levels that was all.

    Advice to Management

Learn to listen to your lower staff, feed that through your middle management and listen all the way up. Dont ignore your talent
