    Pros

    Awesome coworkers
    Clean site
Lots of room for growth, if you choose to show initiative.
There honestly wasnt much I didnt like about this job.

    Cons

Site closures in Region Americas (Phoenix and Carrollton)

Sad to see this place closing. STM is losing a lot of great knowledge, and a great group of employees

    Advice to Management

Consider what youre doing to this company before its too late. I wouldnt be surprised if they start slipping lower on the top 10 semiconductor sites in the next few years, due to bad business decisions to keep the stakeholders happy.

    Pros

It has Great people. The pay is good. I have a sense of responsibility and acheivement in doing a good job.

    Cons

Site is closing, my opinion is that it is due to the CEO and French and Italian governments subsidizing the plants in ther respective countries.

    Advice to Management

I have never had an issue with manangement, I have always been treated fairly and with respect. So nothing really too mention

    Pros

The teams are fluid and dynamic, the best I have ever worked with. Opportunities are available for those willing to take the challenge and go the extra mile. We are somewhat spoiled at STM. That's an environment that motivates employees to strive for excellence.

    Cons

Shutting down, manufacturing operations in the US are moving overseas by the end of 2011.

    Advice to Management

It was a good run here in the US with STM manufacturing. Thank you for all the memories. I provided a good quality service, STM provided fair wage and afforded me a good standard of living.

    Pros

Better than average pay, senior management treats employees with respect and are highly competent in their management skills. Excellent leverets to long term employees with flex vacation time. Interesting work with a Euro peon culture being French & Italian owned.

    Cons

Not many promotions if you come in as a mid level engineer. Also, since some managers come from Europe they need USA training on HR rules but that not a big issue.

    Advice to Management

    none. Thanks!

I have been working at STMicroelectronics as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's Like honeymoon period for an Intern.
    Great Colleagues to work with.
You will learn everything like core java, MySql, PL/SQL, Unix Basics, Unix Shell Scripting etc..
other than these their tools as well you will have to learn them.
    Not much Work Load you.
but if you seriously want a Placement offer from their side you have to show the work and have to take the workload.
overall it's a great place to start your career as an intern.
one last thing about SALARY : Its Marvellous, the amount of work they give to you, comparing to that the salary is more than enough. No Other Company pays so much of enjoying 6 months. (yeah i would say Enjoying, you know the rest.)

    Cons

First Thing they don't offer placements to their interns, only a few are lucky to get Placement, actually, i should not say lucky but a hard worker.
Their Absorption rate is very less.
Mostly people say after completing training from St. they didn't get a job because what other industries want they didn't teach you.
So my advice is that you must have a backup plan after training.
Next thing, they do not give you much workload that is also one of the cons working at ST.

    Advice to Management

    To the Management,
Why you hire so many interns, even when you don't have much requirement. You are making

    Pros

Best Place to work. Highly talented people are there. The atmosphere is very vibrant. A lot of other Facilities were available which is very great.

    Cons

Sometimes the working hours are so much long that you will get frustrated and give up.
although the working environment is good enough.
