I have been working at STOPSO full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-If you are still in school they will sponsor you for a TS clearance to be able to be deployed on contract once you graduate, and if your clearance hasn't come through yet, they still pay you to come into work and do unclassified research
-Flexible work schedule, choosing your own hours
-Executive staff that sits in house and is passionate about the mission, very resourceful and helpful at all times
-Abilities to travel both CONUS and OCONUS depending on contract
-Upward mobility, nobody is stuck in their role regardless of what part you play, you can start at headquarters with no clearance and gain your clearance while employed to be deployed on contract!
    -Culture !!!

    Cons

Tyson's traffic is the worst! Does that count?

I worked at STOPSO full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Health Insurance policy is great. Was $100 a month, no deductible, free generics, decent copay, vision insurance actually covered corrective lenses

    Cons

The company is sexist. The only person on my contract who got a promotion was a man, who had less experience than other females. They do not give annual raises. Negotiate hard with them at the beginning because that will be your pay for your entire time unless you somehow get a promotion. They are a sinking ship. They are losing contracts and they have a history of underbidding contracts and then asking people to take pay cuts. They had one good manager, who left and started her own company, it went downhill from there.

    Advice to Management

If you don't want high turnover rates, give your employees the salaries they deserve and give them regular raises. Keep up with the great health insurance. You could also compete better if you offered more PTO. Many companies offer 15 from the start, instead of the 10, then 12, then eventually 15 that you offer. Contracts don't last long enough to earn that.

    I worked at STOPSO full-time

    Pros

decent pay with a lot of help from the higher-ups for advancement and solid workers to be by your side

    Cons

lots of unexpected tasking and late shift at the end of work weeks made it difficult alltogether in the end

    Advice to Management

definitely keep doing what they are doing though a surge in salary would help keep people in the pipeline

I worked at STOPSO (Less than a year)

Everyone in the company is really friendly and willing to help out with anything you may need help with.

    Cons

I honestly don't have any cons to add.

I have been working at STOPSO full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good chance to get entry level experience. The people are generally OK to get along with on a personal level, at least in the entry positions.

    Cons

High turnover. The pay and benefits are absolutely not competitive and don't reach industry averages in any entry or mid level positions. Very few opportunities to advance within the company unless you have friends or know somebody.

I worked at STOPSO full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A stepping stone and foot in the door for some interesting work, and overall many employees are cooperative and likable.

    Cons

Management not transparent with employees. Will replace employees behind their backs leaving them out of luck and stressed. Like many small businesses, Stopso lacks some clarity on company expectations and direction of the company. New COO is not liked by employees and will likely push employees away from the company. Company is disorganized and has favoritism. Can be a stepping stone for bigger and better things, but not somewhere you can stay long term. High turnover, and may become worse with difficult leadership. Gossipy and pettiness are not unheard of.

    Advice to Management

Communicate better to employees. More transparency about expectations and opportunities for advancement.

I worked at STOPSO full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Gives new grads good experience in the workplace, and insight into the contracting world. Depending on the contract you get, it might even be somewhat interesting.

    Cons

Absolute favoritism displayed at every level. The lowly contractors are repeatedly passed over for raises while upper management (aka the CEO's friends and army buddies) get nice bonuses and raises every year. The pay is laughable. There is little to no communication between management and employees, and arbitrary layoffs cause immense stress and contribute to an unhealthy work environment. Support staff does not know what they're doing. Very little concern for the interests of employees. Virtually no opportunities for advancement as any discussions involving future opportunities are shot down. Quickest employee turnaround of any workplace I've been in. Avoid if you can.

    Advice to Management

Have more concern for your employees and communicate better. Oh and fair pay wouldn't hurt.

I have been working at STOPSO full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good contracts and interesting work, great entry level opportunities. Potential to develop your professional skillset (depending on what contract you are placed on).

    Cons

Management lacks professionalism and experience. Seniority and company loyalty are not valued or rewarded. Pay is extremely low. No clear path for growth or leadership development. Low caliber employees hired due to low pay.

    Advice to Management

Value the employees you have, listen to their needs and give them a clear structured way to meet their goals. Take care of employees who have put in time with the company first. Hire good management with experience and professionalism.
