I have been working at STV Construction full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

great job security. nobody is ever fired, ever. no matter how terrible you are or how much money you lose the company. also the office location is pretty sweet.

    Cons

you're just thrown from project fire to project fire. i was only taught things related to that fire, i never learned to be an engineer... not once did i have a discussion about career development or any performance reviews.

    Advice to Management

you fall into the "pro" column. look at the reviews here..stop burying your head in the sand and fix the problem at the company. that's the whole point of being an engineer!

I have been working at STV Construction full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

AMAZING Continuing Education Reimbursement Benefits- Much better than other similar companies. Employee owned company with stock price that consistently rises

    Cons

Company puts on a facade of trying to retain employees, while actually doing very little to accommodate their needs and stay competitive with others in the industry

    Advice to Management

Employees performing at high levels on job sites are constantly being offered better paying jobs with better benefits from other companies. Loyalty only will last so long when STV shows little appreciation for employees, refuses to provide competitive salaries and offers little room for growth within the company.

I have been working at STV Construction full-time

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to grow, some really good projects to work on and flexibility with your own time management as long as things get done

    Cons

More team building time; I don't like the individual competitive atmosphere, we should be a team and working as a team

    Advice to Management

Create a more team atmosphere, especially for the staff on site and not in the office to have one on one face time with each other
