I worked at SUEZ full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

It at one time was a nice Compay that looked out for its employees.

    Cons

Low pay and discrimination plagues regulated business. Women aren't advanced and don't hold leadership roles in this department, yet they have the same responsibilities. The last senior regulatory analyst position, was upgraded to a senior director position for a male applicant. Positions are upgraded multiple levels for incoming men, yet the company doesn’t advance their female counterparts who have comparable responsibilities and education. Don’t’ bank on using the tuition reimbursement program in this department. You won’t be able to make the commitment to the classes due to the excessive unpaid overtime. The senior members in this department are near retirement. There's incompetence in all aspects of Human Resources and Labor Relations.

    Advice to Management

Recognize your staff for their achievements in this tight labor market and staff appropriately. This was once a great Company that took care of its employees.

    Pros

    Clear policies and procedures
    Some managers are very approachable
    Lots of employee communication/updates given

    Cons

Top heavy, lots of of money spent at the top of the hierarchy not Enough doers to carry out the work
Too many egos amongst senior/middle management, focus on delivery not personality
Very old fashioned, poor IT systems, tasks take longer than necessary due to poor IT systems (even the new ones!)
Company policies and procedures need to be followed by ALL not just the lower grades
Face needs to fit to be promoted

    Advice to Management

Just because someone is good at their job doesn't mean they will be a good manager
Give managers time to manage their team
Give people the tools and resources to do their job
