    Pros

PTO is great, but management makes you feel guilty to take a day off. They allow overtime however, it is expected of you to work more hours and they get pissed off if you have to leave

    Cons

Management and HR work together. If you are in within your rights, it will be held against you. This is a biased place and there is favoritism beyond belief. There are no raises or bonuses and you are expected to do more than your actual job. When something is missed or incorrect in your job performance it is not seen as overwhelmed but its noted as being neglectful. RUN

    Advice to Management

Look at yourself and see what you are doing wrong with your staff

    Pros

The benefits are great, if you have a passion for helping people and want to make a difference in the community.

    Cons

Management can be unprofessional, undermining & demeaning at times. A lot of culture clashes as well and a tremendous amount of patience is needed to deal with management!

    Advice to Management

Learn to respect your workers & remember that the institution doesn't employ children so management shouldn't treat employees as such!

    Pros

    Collaboration with practices is enforced

    Cons

    No growth opportunity
    Lack of Senior Leadership

    Advice to Management

Senior leadership does not collaborate or agree. Each individual does what is best for their practice without consideration to the other departments affected both financial and with business strategies

    Pros

    Benefits are good.
Salary is ok, but doesn't correspond to qualifications and work done.

    Cons

Middle management is unprofessional and ambitious. Tends to stay forever. Puts down and discourages talented employees, promotes lazy, unprofessional unqualified ones.

Senior management leaves the place every 3-4 years. No positives changes.

A lot of money was spent for unnecessary projects. Majority of the staff has no interest to anything except for their paychecks. The moral is low. Stalking, abuse and bulling is a normal practice.

    Advice to Management

    Changes are necessary.
    Management has to be replaced.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at SUNY Downstate Medical Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I have worked here for nearly 23 years and it has afforded me extremely growth in managerial and administrative experience.

    Cons

No opportunity to elevate to the next level. Enormous amount of changes departmentally and within the institution that are not positive changes.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to work as a team rather than against one another. There's strength in numbers and it helps when everyone is on the same page. Team Work Makes the Dream Work.

    Pros

PTO, Medical Benefits other then that Downstate/ University Physician's of BKLYN have nothing to offer you.

    Cons

NO ROOM FOR ADVANCEMENT, NO BONUSES, NO RAISES. If you are one of the few good employees, the ones who are over achievers and have good work ethic you will be taken advantage of. Good work gets rewarded with more work and there are no incentives. Poor management, employees are not held accountable, lack of motivation of desire, indecent employees, safety hazards, lack of training, unorganized, dirty, outdated equipment, no enough funding or funds in the budget to improved quality of care and quality of the workplace.

    Advice to Management

Get it together. How do you even have a job?
