I worked at SUNY Geneseo part-time

    Pros

Good pay for a part time job. Fun and laid back work environment. Great resume building position. Good incentives for doing well

    Cons

Limited amount of hours available. Some nights where we would talk to no one. quite a bit of employee turnover

    Advice to Management

Be more organized to be able to give callers better feed back. Be more transparent about how much total money we have raised total and where exactly it goes.

I have been working at SUNY Geneseo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Caring, genuine coworkers -- and an environment where most employees are well treated and satisfied with their jobs.

    Cons

The winters are cold in Western NY, if you're not used to it!

    Advice to Management

I would love to see more promotion from within. There are amazing people already working here who can do more!

I worked at SUNY Geneseo full-time

    Pros

Really great people at Geneseo, very casual and laid back atmosphere, lots of flexibility in schedule, opportunity to help students and influence them for the better. Really close community.

    Cons

All the issues that you would expect in the public sector. Lack of accountability, understaffing, no consequences for huge issues.

    Advice to Management

    Stop the favoritism

I worked at SUNY Geneseo part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Gained a lot of relevant experience from working in the finance department as a business major. Flexible hours and emphasis placed on my school schedule was helpful.

    Cons

Limited hours allowed and couldn't be employed for two SUNY positions at once as a student.

    Advice to Management

Continue taking in enthusiastic students, this helps post-grad resumes a lot.

I worked at SUNY Geneseo part-time

    Pros

Getting a job at CAS in Geneseo is fairly simple, with it being a minimum wage food service job. Hours are flexible and are fairly accommodating towards school-related conflicts.

    Cons

The main problem I had with CAS is that the management never made me feel like my work was appreciated. Even just a simple "thanks" was rare to receive, and when you do more than what you are asked to do, the typical response was to just be told to do even more.

    Advice to Management

Do more to make workers feel valued and less like slaves.
