I have been working at SUPERVALU full-time

    Pros

It's close to home. The people I work with are nice. There's not much more I can say to paint it in a positive light.

    Cons

It's disorganized, there's no communication, it's sexist, anyone that isn't management is a minion, and as I see it, the business model is set for failure.

    Advice to Management

Stop looking at what's just on you desk and look at the big picture. It's just just about the department you work in but the company as a whole.

I have been working at SUPERVALU part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good starting pay. They really take care of you once your full time

    Cons

You schudule isn't never the same. You can never judge or no your quit times. All you can do is guess once you start your shift. It's nearly impossible to get overtime cuz if they can avoid it they will by sending you home early and this is all while your part time. They will send you around all around the place. You would think grocery is the best place to work but isn't. In the summer time it's humid and miserable. There's no air movement. So basicly I had to beg to be in perishable which temperatures range from -20 to 40 degrees depending what section your in. Most places you get full time 90 days from the day u start. This place is 90 days worked or 900 hours. Most weeks you only get 4 days do it takes at least 6 months for that to happen unless you get extremely lucky. If you can get thru being treated like that which many won't then full time is bitter sweet.

    Advice to Management

Let the highest part time members get a preference where they wanna go. Let guys get the option of staying longer then kicking all of us casual part timers out at same time. Make us feel like we arnt pieces of garbage n treat us so bad until we are full time

I worked at SUPERVALU full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good home time. Good benefits. Union job. Worked with many great people at the grocery stores and at the warehouse.

    Cons

Sometimes we were short-handed and I had to work over seventy hours in a week. The pay structure didn't get me much overtime even though I worked well over fourth hours.

    Advice to Management

It would have been nice if the bids that were available had more consistent start times. Better compensation for all of the hard work and dedication.

I have been working at SUPERVALU full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Casual dress code, work from home

    Cons

Some managers are downright abusive and nothing is ever done about them. Certain people who make a lot of mistakes get protected and others do not. Management does not listen to staff.

    Advice to Management

Act like you value your staff once in a while. Don't berate people in front of the entire group. Treat staff like human beings. Don't treat some people one way and others a totally different way for similar situations.

I worked at SUPERVALU full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay was good, my managers were fair and competent. Workload was fine, and we were given the tools and time we needed for the job.

    Cons

Home Office was doing things no one at my level expected to work. Center store, too slow to expand stores.

    Advice to Management

Seems like the problems started with the Albertsons 'merger'. Clear house and start again.
