I have been working at SYKES part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Ability to work from home. I used to enjoy working for them but my current program is so bad, I am looking for new employment.

    Cons

Programs are poorly run, QA's are inaccurate, they cheat you on tech pay, my current team lead is really bad at communicating and responding to you, if she bothers to at all, and senior management isn't very good either, they lose programs because of it, and training is insufficient to say the least.

    Advice to Management

Some team leads are unqualified for the position, and some programs are so bad, like my current one, no one stays very long. Senior management is not very good and you lose programs because of it. You also should know some positions need much more than a week or so of training, and you need better trainers. People make mistakes because they are not adequately trained.

    - If you do something wrong even right out of training management WILL yell at you
    - Policies are a rollercoaster and change all the time like almost on a weekly basis

    Advice to Management

Make a plan and stick to it stop changing policies on a whim

I have been working at SYKES (Less than a year)

    Pros

I love working for Sykes. Their team members are excellent and you fell like your in a real office all day. The Knowledge Base is incredible and leaves you to work independently most of the time. Every one is very kind and the professionalism from this company is unmatched.

    Cons

The only complaint that I have about Sykes is that I am not able to set my own hours. Where I can go in trade hours, or request certain time off, it's very hard to be allowed any addition time to your self. The hours are 9-10 hours a day during peak seasons and can wean down to 4-5 hours during the slow periods.

    Advice to Management

If you were able to make your positions a little more relaxed with easier flexibility in scheduling, you would be number 1.

    Pros

If you just need a job, this is the right one for you. Pain training and random drug tests. Fast paced

    Cons

Loud, ghetto, no room for advancement. You will move up, if you are friends with management

    Advice to Management

Take your job more seriously. Look out for your agents and you would get your bonuses more

I worked at SYKES full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice people, 7 weeks of paid training. If you are meeting their handling times and selling their products everything is great and you are treated wonderfully. They will give you time to learn to increase your stats. They offer to let you quit or get fired as not to be able to collect UI.

    Cons

Customers would be very upset because the store reps would lie to them about how much money the plans and or the phones would really cost. They will write you up easily. I had trouble with the time clock and after 3 times of having the mistake adjusted I was written up. The same went for making any adjustment on the time clock before or after clocking in or out of your shift; that happened to me too. There attitude gets nasty if you are not complying to company quota. If you are in extra training, you can and will be sent home early if company is going through rough time per competition with competitors. If you quit, they say you can come back in 6 months and reapply but not many people are rehired and by that time you will have another job or hope you have another source of income.

    Advice to Management

I sold the heck out of the cell phone plans to almost everyone I talked to and saved customers from quitting because of all the lying the store reps did. Penalize the store reps for lying and not the telephone reps for not selling a lot of U-Verse.
