I worked at SYKES full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked at the Intel Department inside Sykes Costa Rica and the experience was mostly positive. People are really nice, company has great perks for students where they help you cover your tuition and activities all year round.

    Cons

My department suffered from favoritism and although I wasn't affected by it, I did saw some cases where people would get preferential treatment only because they were friends with the team lead.

    Advice to Management

    Better lead training.

I have been working at SYKES full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work from home opportunity. I had good training but everyone does not. Good Support. I don't have to pay for a sitter. I have Fridays And Saturdays off

    Cons

They play favorites a lot and if you are not a favorite, you will not get many advancement opportunities. I started with a pretty new client 2 years ago. They will give you false sense of entitlement and will not pay you, and when you don't want to play ball.. they will try and fire you or suspend you. Turnover is high. All the people who started with me are gone. Pay is low! Not a living wage by far. Best for a stay at home mom, or disabled, or retire person for work from home

    Advice to Management

Don't Play Favorites and Pay People what they are worth. Just Because I work from home doesn't mean I don't have bills! Keep promoting from within and adding clients that share your great ethics because my client is unbearable!!! Thank you

I have been working at SYKES full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work from home, different shifts available, Great support from staff

    Cons

Getting stuck in a six month contract with a client.

Most of the Cons are directed towards the Client I service Frontier Communications:
I am very unhappy with the client I am servicing. They are just a horrible company that puts all their focus on sales and none on customer service. It is constant calls of customers who hate the company.
Team Leads offer no support. Mine was MIA unless she wanted to talk about sales
Chat room to get support or even a supervisor is ridiculous. No way should you have to keep a customer on hold 20 minutes to speak to a supervisor.

    Advice to Management

Frontier is not a good client to have. Drop them

If an employee can provide great customer service but is struggling with the client, offer them the option to transfer. I dealt with so much verbal abuse from unhappy customers it was absurd.

    Pros

Excellent Monday through Friday work week, friendly environmen, quick advancement from within

    Cons

    Pros

    Great benefits. Excellent opportunities.

    Cons

    Poor management. Lack of support.

    Advice to Management

When an employee reaches out to a TL and specifically asks for additional support and doesn't receive the support maybe the TL should be evaluated for their performance. Terminating the employee for call avoidance when the employee begged for support is unacceptable!
