I have been working at SYKES full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Management is good, welcoming atmosphere, the ability to work at home, provide work equipment, no commute, very understanding when medical issues are planned, schedule rarely changes, days off are always the same, opportunities to grow

    Cons

Low pay, except low AHT, 18 minutes for chat 16 for phones, while dealing with thing such as troubleshooting, hardware replacement/repair order, working with internet connections. On chat, they want you to make the customer happy while saying under 18 minutes, dealing with two customers at the same time. Don't let you know if a time off request is correct or not until you're within a week of the date, you have to ask 14 days in advance or no luck. If you need to get in contact with HR they wait until last minute for you to respond. Work holidays, unable to request time off at all if it's between November and December. Sometimes unfair treatment and not telling you that something is wrong until months later. Unhelpful when you leave for an extend time and ask for assistance.

    Advice to Management

Let employees know when something is wrong ASAP, excluding audits. Ease up on handle time and focus on quality service.

I have been working at SYKES full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    1. Terrific training program that is tailored to help you succeed; 2. Great people; 3. Ability to work from home; 4. Decent benefits; 5. You will be recognized for good work; 6. They do seem to value you a great deal.

    Cons

    1. Initial out of pocket expenses; 2. EXTREMELY LOW PAY - minimum wage; 3. Expectations are a bit too high, considering the pay (I.e. the expected average handle time has to be very very low, yet required to provide the best service; 4. Doesn’t seem like there is much opportunity for growth unless you have been with them for years and years; 5. Did I mention low pay ;)

    Advice to Management

Decrease AHT expectations to allow for more opportunities to provide exceptional customer service; Increase pay for those who succeed and do not wait years to do so; Really, my biggest issue is the low pay... it is not motivating- actually counterproductive.

I have been working at SYKES full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I can assist people with financial questions and concerns they may have.

    Cons

It’s a bank that isn’t too favorable right now and the management makes it where you feel like your family comes last

    Advice to Management

Too much favoritism is not a good thing to try to keep good people. To see it regularly makes the job more unbearable. It’s already tough when the customers are chewing you out.

    Cons

    Horrible Management
    Hours

    Equipment and Software is horrible.
    Very Slow Systems.
Training needs to be longer and more detailed.

    Advice to Management

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Restructure your management team, Very poor employee support. Having to REQUEST to speak to a supervisor is not a good thing. waiting sometimes for days for a response. Try and figure out why all of the company's systems are so slow and why they crash all the time.

I have been working at SYKES full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Its an at-home position which saves me tons in the way of gas and lunches, its nearly impossible to get fired, they send you all the equipment you need to be able to do your work although they do recommend (well, they technically require, but you could do the job without it) that you get an extra monitor. The people are always positive and uplifting.

    Cons

The training for the program I was on sucked. It was only half done, meaning I could only perform half of my job duties. The pay is absurdly low for the work and effort that has to be put in and the size of the company. The "support" staff often dont know the answers to your questions or fail to answer you so you are left stuttering with customers. They will NOT let customers speak with a supervisor. Also, the supervisors cannot make any decisions you, yourself, cannot make.

    Advice to Management

PAY. This needs to increase, or pay for all of the employees health insurance. Its fair for the amount of effort, learning, and work we have to perform on a daily basis. Please, get some supervisors who can actually make decisions and allow inside transfers so we dont continually get cussed out because a customer is tired of repeating themselves after the phones cut out 12 times.
