I have been working at SYKES full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I like the group of people that I work, they seem to have a genuine interest in my success. Plus the hours are great and the pay is decent

    Cons

Toooo pushy on call times. They want extremely long call times with customers and most of the time it is too hard to keep a customer on the line longer than they want to be

I worked at SYKES (More than a year)

    Pros

Steady, regular hours that I could count on. Good benefits.

    Cons

    Low pay and no raises.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management is to pay more attention to who you are actually promoting. This job site has the most peculiar "management" dynamic I've ever witnessed. Lazy Team Managers who only "managed" regular group potlucks. The only time they moved a muscle is when upper management was around. My TM once told me that I sounded too "conservative" and "professional" on the phone. I explained to her that I did customer service for a bank, not Taco Bell.

I worked at SYKES full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You work from home. Good pay if you stay for awhile.

    Cons

So much repetitive work, gets very boring. If you like the same thing every day

    Advice to Management

Stop Micromanaging and let the employees do their jobs. Stop changing the work flow every other day.

    Pros

Very friendly environment. Nice people. Good training with people who mostly care about the customer. Hourly work paid as well as commissions on extra sales. Defined schedule and break periods.

    Cons

Sales goals are set at a level that just aggravates the customer. Consumers calling in for help with Bill and then being lied to about other products that at this Center was not able to make changes or even help customers.

I have been working at SYKES (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay is above average for call center work in Lakeland
Good entry level position to customer service

    Cons

Pay is not enough for the amount of work required
No raise/pay increases, nor commission at this time
Workplace often feels akin to a high school type environment, Team Leads acting like teachers and agents acting like adolescents with disciplinary issues

    Advice to Management

Take Care of the people who do their work right, cut out the rest. Refine the hiring process, and fine tune the training/nesting system to weed out people who do not want to excel

    Pros

Benefits/non medical are great! On going sales training, Daily positive encouragement to meet program goals, and access to customer feedback now

    Cons

Training was challenging, impartial to disabled that r slow and not selling, software is technically challenging and not reliable, and must watch your time worked because of being repeated kicks out of software used to regard your hours worked

    Advice to Management

Please allow disabled to do their work without having to constantly watch time checking for accuracy which becomes an added responsibility

I worked at SYKES full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work at home in virtual call center. Good training for most projects. Walmart project was the worst project for me. Many software issues during critical times. Plexus was very enjoyable project and reliable software.

    Cons

Not many opportunities for advancement in pay. Worked on several projects with same pay regardless of past experience.

    Advice to Management

Depending on project have enough 'floor' support for new hires and new to project help

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to move up. Upper management is responsive to concerns.

    Cons

Hiring has been more concerned with getting people in the door than in quality and it shows.

    Advice to Management
