I have been working at SYKES (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay is above average for call center work in Lakeland
Good entry level position to customer service

    Cons

Pay is not enough for the amount of work required
No raise/pay increases, nor commission at this time
Workplace often feels akin to a high school type environment, Team Leads acting like teachers and agents acting like adolescents with disciplinary issues

    Advice to Management

Take Care of the people who do their work right, cut out the rest. Refine the hiring process, and fine tune the training/nesting system to weed out people who do not want to excel

    Pros

The best part really was that I got to work from the comfort of my own home. The job wasn't too complicated.

    Cons

The cons just about everything else. The pay is lousy and no good benefits. The hours sucked and it was hard to get time off for anything.

    Advice to Management

Management needs a better system for communicating with them. Training could have been a little better as well. Goals could be a little more realistic.

I have been working at SYKES full-time

    Pros

Talking to different customers. Decent pay. Friendly employees.

    Cons

I wish training was longer or at least gave us more experience on the phones before going into production because once I was placed on the floor I felt alone and as if no one wanted to help me when I really needed it.

    Advice to Management

Be more willing to help the new employees

    Pros

Benefits/non medical are great! On going sales training, Daily positive encouragement to meet program goals, and access to customer feedback now

    Cons

Training was challenging, impartial to disabled that r slow and not selling, software is technically challenging and not reliable, and must watch your time worked because of being repeated kicks out of software used to regard your hours worked

    Advice to Management

Please allow disabled to do their work without having to constantly watch time checking for accuracy which becomes an added responsibility

    Pros

Great team building. Excellent benefits and good rapport with trainees.

    Cons

Training was not sufficient. I quit because training was all over the place.

    Advice to Management

I worked in quality for call centers for over twenty years. The company assigned had a terrible use of technology. I love
working and I am dedicated, and believe in getting a job done quickly and accurately.

I worked at SYKES (More than a year)

    Pros

Will hire anyone no matter experience

    Cons

Minimum wage, faulty technology, faux "training", revolving door of idiots, bearded through everything. Why does AARP subject their members to this? Supervisors are stay-at-home Mommys who never get to bully anyone except YOU,

    Advice to Management

Upgrade technology, pay a living wage, TRAIN workers until the job is done!

I worked at SYKES full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work from home and you actually do get a pay check but you will not be paid for the hours that you actually worked.

    Cons

Training lacks proper teaching and you are basically on your own and feel like you make the LEADS IRRITATED if you need help.

    Advice to Management

Re organize starting with Account Manager.

I worked at SYKES full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The friends I made and still have.

    Cons

If you have a disability or are injured on the job....say goodbye and stay away from...I f you have a service animal? They will not be allowed to be at work with you...they will do everything in their power to get you to quit or they will fire you....remember most states are right to work..and they will put in your file a different reason..and yes I personally went through this with my service dog

    Advice to Management

Get over the service dog and disability phobias....looks better to client if you have a diversified team who can do their job....Brush up on your ADA laws especially the parts about service animals... because the next person may take you to fed court for discrimination after hire...
