I have been working at Saab Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Highly competitive salary and decent benefits. Up to 4.5% (50% of 9%) 401k matching plus up to 5% 1-for-1 share matching (3yr to mature) making up to 9.5% total benefit. Beating most US defense and aerospace company.

    Cons

(For US) Foreign owned company operating under SSA. Many restrictions.
    Thin on R&D spending.
Syracuse site has very snowy winters (a plus if skiing is your thing)

    Advice to Management

Invest more on research and development. Better career path development. Keep up the good work.

I worked at Saab Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, great people, good working environment but layoffs happen whenever sales fail to meet goals from Sweden.

    Cons

No long term strategic plan. Difficult to plan resources without a plan. Company is engineering centric with good engineers being promoted to management. Not much regard for employees if job requires long travel. Some favoritism in job assignments and promoitions

    Advice to Management

Get s strategic plan, identify your core competencies, identify the skillsets you will need to accomplish the strategic plan and bolster the competencies. Respect non-engineering skills in your labor force.
