too much focus on TV instead of digital
    no job growth

    Advice to Management

I worked at Saatchi & Saatchi full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked independently, so I scheduled my own week. Didn't have someone micromanaging me or asking what I was doing. Just because I was left to my own devices to learn a ton of new things, I was able to advance professionally and apply my skills to figure out things on my own.

    Cons

Poor management (mixed direction, unclear about changes)
Focused on profit and not overall health of the team

    Advice to Management

There are SO MANY talented people out there who can really deliver amazing Digital Advertising and turn your company very profitable. Pay attention to the rockstars!

    Pros

The resources are unmatched and there are some really great people

    Cons

Too many layers and lots of process, which can interfere with creativity

    Advice to Management

Management would benefit from trusting the younger and more junior staff members more often and offering a more freedom.

I have been working at Saatchi & Saatchi full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a great place to start out where you will inevitably learn agency process and touch on a lot of content in various mediums. My team specifically allowed me stretch my legs and own/work on more than many others in my position. Pretty good work/life balance.

    Cons

The agency can be too traditional and rigid in process. Big company = slow moving. I feel it lacks collaboration where people feel like they can pass off a problem onto someone else if they don't feel like it's 'their problem'. Very hierarchical; people tend to stay in their swim lanes. Lacks a great office culture and outdated technology.

    Advice to Management

Update technology, every single person deserves a laptop. Promote a better culture within the office; one of collaboration and excitement.

I worked at Saatchi & Saatchi (Less than a year)

    Pros

I liked that it is a legacy ad agency, with a lot of big clients and national campaigns to work on. It was definitely a step up from local agencies and clients.

    Cons

Management seemed to be reactive rather than proactive dealing with any internal issues. It seems like everyone worked their way up from accounts, creative or media without picking up the requisite management skills.

    Advice to Management

Hire some management consultants, or give some management training to the people you already have.
