    Pros

Good sales leadership, mainly on the technical sales - VP of Technical Sales was a proven direct contributor, manager, and strong leader.

    Cons

Not the best leadership from the top. The CEO (at the time) was a little flippant when it came to direction of the company product and feature-wise. It was often misinterpreted by customers and prospects (IMO).

I have been working at Saba Software full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good company, professional people and exceptional product/services. Saba Cloud is an amazing product well ahead of the competition.

I feel like I am making a difference and that I am valued by management and by my peers.

The transition from a public company to private was smooth and while it did have some rough edges, it was almost a non-event, in fact it was the best and least disruptive I have experienced ( and I have been through multiple similar events) .

This positions the company further for growth and development. I would rather work here than for any of the competitive companies.

    Cons

Very active and engaging. I am busy all the time... ( which is also a good thing)
Sometimes processes move a bit slower than I like....

Not a perfect organization, but the collective talent of it's people is amazing.

A response to some of the other reviews.... Yes, there have been changes and yes a few people have been displaced because of those changes. This is normal... organizations evolve.... I am sad for those who feel compelled to be critical perhaps because of the recent changes that might have impacted them personally. I have worked for a "1-star" company... Saba definitely deserves 3 or more stars.

    Advice to Management

Keep us up to date... Keep it transparent.... always listen.... and help us grow through definitive leadership and vision. Let's continue to push innovation and product development.

    - No celebrations of any release or achievement. Ops is completely ignored. Team outings are very rare.
    - Majority of the remaining employees are hovering for annual bonuses due in September.
    - Heavy favoritism by top engineering boss to retain few employees considering performance retrenchment that happened

    Advice to Management

    - Invest in people and processes.

I worked at Saba Software full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free food. Strong middle management team. Work life balance. Lot's of smart and passionate individual contributers.

    Cons

VERY political. Executive leadership hires based on personality fit and disregards if they can do the job. They favor a select few that will be allowed to make most of the decisions and treat other employees badly.
Leadership does not make data-driven decisions only pays lip service to it. Some very difficult personalties to get along with at the company. Chief officer has a very dated and flawed approach regarding strategy. Also, hired several very incompetent employees and did not include the technical experts in the decision-making process. About 50% of work in our department was purely dedicated to playing politics and doing needless task in the hope to win brownie points from upper management. Decisions are made based on emotions not logic. Few rationale people left at the company.

    Advice to Management

Replace some of the old school executives and build a culture that is less driven on politics and rewards high performance.

I have been working at Saba Software full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Learn a lot
-My team is pretty good and I respect both my managers
-A few really smart people who know their stuff
    -Free lunch

    Cons

-Only a few people actually know how/ are willing to do their jobs. Management says "ok let's do it" without ever figuring out how or who will do it.
-Post-buyout most of the good people have either left or been laid off. It's getting increasingly difficult to get anything done.
-Management does not communicate to each other, every team is a silo so co-ordination is non-existent.
    -Workload is insane

    Advice to Management

-Learn how to be managers and hold your people accountable
    -Talk to each other

    CEO is nice

    Cons

There is no direction or strategy or credibility, everything keep changing. Favorite get promoted even if they don't show up to work for months, or do any work. The only way to succeed is boot licking your manager, and they will keep promoting you. They treat employee like fools, and keep asking them to work day and night without any growth opportunities. Excellent place for people who do nothing but make lot of noise.

    Advice to Management

Just please stay here with your favorites, don't go anywhere else and mess up the company and people.
