    Pros

Good pay, bus fecility, fexible working hours, good health insurance, reimbursement of broadbad.

    Cons

Work environment contain politics in some teams. Knowledge sharing in the team is poor.

    Advice to Management

If good working environment has to be created, that would be great.

    Pros

Safe environment, good benefits, outdated performance rating policies

    Cons

Performance ratings are strictly based on bell curve distribution. In a team were all are good performers someone always needs to fill the bottom percentile with the consequences of improvement plan discussions and actions and impact to variable compensation and career opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Performance evaluation should include a stronger component for individual con tributions aside from performance distribution in the team.

I have been working at Sabre full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people at this company are mostly really great to work with. You are expected to use your brain, voice your opinions (especially if they include a solution) and figure things out. There are a lot of really bright people who really care about their peers. A lot of people have both good leaders and advancement opportunities at this company.

    Cons

Culture has shifted from leading with trust to leading with mistrust. A formerly relaxed environment has turned a little tense where people are not getting promoted unless they move to Dallas and many are pressured into coming into the office,. There are a few bad apples in leadership because they "show up" and tell their bosses what they want to hear, instead of having the tough, honest conversations. There are a some unrealistic expectations on the amount of work that can be completed with the level of talent and capacity.

    Advice to Management

Don't pretend to be a "tech company" but abandon what makes tech fun: flexible working hours and fun when you are in the office. Stop promoting by proximity, instead choose the best candidate. Be willing to pay market rate for talent and staff appropriately.

I have been working at Sabre full-time

    Pros

Passionate and knowledgeable people. Many nice colleagues.
Great work flexibility to work from home (even if work contract doesn t state it), which is the main reason people work sooooo hard and remain with Sabre.

    Cons

Absolutely no visibility in management strategy.
Rarely expect a 'thank you, well done' from upper levels.
Workload has been raising like crazy. You may have conference calls until mid night, or during Saturday. Many colleagues in burnout situations.
Lots of bureaucracy. Very US centric company, where guys in Texas never consider regionalized market needs. Don t listen to EMEA or APAC recommendations. MAnagement not really caring about employees well being, not listening to their employees suggestions to improve service, All is urgent, and it is a perpetual stress for most people involved in Implementation, training, account management. Not had real team meeting for years.
Not many hires and people that are leaving or are laid off are not systematically replaced. Situation where you feel guilty to try to recover extra time.

    Advice to Management

Organize physical team meetings. WebEx is not all !
Listen to your employees, and act accordingly.
Care for your employees as much as they care about Sabre customers.!!! Take the Richard Bronson (Virgin) approach.... STOP, being US centric, EMEA, APAC drive a lot of revenue and a lot of ideas. Do you know there is a time difference between EMEA and Southlake ? When it is your afternoon, is it difficult to understand what time it is in EMEA ?

    Pros

Good environment, excellent technical personal. Good benefits and very competitive salary..

    Cons

Bad administration, inexperienced managers. Frequently layoffs. Managers prefer to dismiss than relocate experienced employees. Employees cannot dispute when they are poorly evaluated, even when there is sufficient evidence of good work throughout the year. Is all up to the inexperienced managers.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to technical people, and attempt to reallocate talents. Managers need to be trained. Give chance for employees proves their performaces instead of leaving upon inexperienced managers discretions.

    "Great co-workers, management lacks direction"

    Star Star Star Star Star
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Very talented technical people and interesting problems to work on. Good benefits. Annual performance based profit sharing has been good.

    Cons

So far, There have been monthly layoffs every month this year. Work from home options are being curtailed. Morale is low.

Management decisions seem to be primarily finance driven and focused on the stock price (next 3 months).

People are mostly viewed as replaceable parts. Office moves are called "re-stacking", as if we were boxes being moved around.

    Advice to Management

If you have to reduce staff, do it and get it over with so that you can focus on rebuilding with the folks that remain, instead of letting everyone live in fear for months.

To be a strong technical company, decisions must be made on a balance of technical and financial information.

I worked at Sabre full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The facility is awesome.

    Cons

They treat their employees like disposable resources. They layoff all the time. The upper-management does not know what they are doing.

    Advice to Management

Stop with the layoffs! You can’t get the company moving in the right direction. Once AA leaves Sabre you’re screwed.

I worked at Sabre (More than 10 years)

    Pros

They were flexible with me when I needed to have something done to my house or with my kids.

    Cons

Sabre doesn't seem to train most management very well. I was there 20 years and I had 17 managers. Out of those 17 I can only say that two were good. The rest only know how to please their superiors and didn't seem to know what to do with everyone that reported to them.

    Advice to Management

    Train your managers better.
