I have been working at Sabre full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Compensation is okay I suppose.

    Cons

Bad politics throughout the organization and very slow decision making, too many processes and no trust in decision making ability of the people who know what needs to be done.

Other than hospitality business the technology is a mess and outdated with no signs of real investment needed (just cuts and more cuts).

The old saying "The left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing" doesn't go far enough.

People say the GDS is a dinosaur or legacy same story with much of the old staff that have held on to jobs due to alliances rather than be good at their job. Overloaded with debt and no prospects.

I would give Sabre a 80% chance of dying a slow and painful death.

Lack of transparency and CYA culture means information and ideas get stuck because middle management are protecting themselves.

    Advice to Management

IPO or sell hospitality and use that money to invest and build a new GDS that future proofs against changing booking behaviors and becomes what a true travel platform. Not just air focused.

I worked at Sabre (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Flexible hours depending on department and manager, etc.
    - Remote work option, depending on department and manager

    Cons

    - Precarious assignment duration on the contract side
    - Not necessarily the most competative compensation, depending on manager and department, etc.

    Advice to Management

    - To Senior Management: many contractors have important roles within the organization, please stop treating those left in the US like cattle!

    I worked at Sabre full-time

    Pros

Good overall company and generally a supportive environment. I spent over 10 years in various roles of increasing responsibility and was happy.

    Cons

Senior management team in flux. Seemed to want to shake up senior team ahead of IPO - some were strong moves, other moves seemed more knee-jerk reactions.

I have been working at Sabre full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Very little now with the new CEO's cost-cutting approach.

    Cons

Sr. Leadership has turned over significantly and fails to understand the business elements which lead to success. The new CEO knows how manage costs, but doesn't understand what it takes to make awesome technology. Decisions are often made in silos as few internal relationships exists. It's every man for himself mentality. The best people have already left or are leaving what was once a great company.
