I worked at Sabre Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great salary, which I think is primarily due to most of their employees working onsite, so they have very low overheads at their corporate offices.

    Cons

Since 80-90% of their employment opps are based on contracts, your job will likely be over when the contract is over.

    Pros

Leadership is very aware of their people and don't treat people like numbers. Like most companies primarily in the federal contracting arena there are cost pressures being forced by the government but the company has always been very transparent about it and has gone out of their way to make accommodations for individual employees when warranted. Quite a diverse workforce as well. Customer and employee interactions are very open and transparent and people really do have their customer's bests interest in mind. I have never felt pressure to cut any corner or sacrifice quality for the sake of the bottom line. Very accessible management that will always listen to an issue or opportunity. Not every company has the resources to take action but I've never had a problem getting my voice heard or generating interest in something new. Wish I could make a 4 1/2 star rating because the company is great but there are still a few areas for improvement.

    Cons

Not as many opportunities to push new technologies as I'd like, but that is always a challenge due to the the nature of federal contracting. The communication channels between people working in the same disciplines is mostly left up to employees to initiate (which some people like) but they don't have forums or birds-of-a-feather type initiatives to encourage collaboration between groups.

    Advice to Management

Provide more tools and opportunities that encourage collaboration within disciplines as well as across the workforce. Adopt new technologies faster and offer more social opportunities that are open to all employees.

    Pros

Employees are treated very well, opportunities are there for advancement, good benefits for the industry, management appreciates and rewards employees.

    Cons

As a primarily a government contractor positions can be based on award or re-award of a government contract.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!
