I have been working at Sacred Hearts Academy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A loving environment where the teachers give of themselves to help nurture high school girls in a Catholic school environment. Sacred Heart girls are simply amazing! Intelligent, caring, stewards of the natural world--all qualities that one hopes their child attain before they go off to college!

    Cons

Sacred Heart teachers live and breathe their jobs. They are dedicated to their profession, their school and their students. It would be nice if they could have some downtime with their work.

    Advice to Management

If possible, please make sure that your dedicated teachers are compensated fairly for the work that they do.

I worked at Sacred Hearts Academy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I enjoyed collaborating with the other teachers, as the teachers (most of them) are very supportive. Students, for the most part, were very respectful and receptive to learning. Technology driven school, one-to-one laptops, a great STEM program and performance arts.

    Cons

Teachers are underpaid for the work they do. They stay well after the required hours, tutoring students and grading/planning lessons. They give up their weekends to chaperone, run open houses, and other things not in their job description. While all teachers do this no matter where you teach, these hardworking teachers at this school are underpaid and under-appreciated by Administration.

    Advice to Management

Be more supportive of your teachers. Perhaps there wouldn't be such a high turnover of teachers and they'd be loyal if they were treated with some respect and trust.
