    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Safeway part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I earned money and experience working there.

    Cons

There was very low pay starting at $7.30. Usually I had to take care of alot of things because there wasn't enough people

    Advice to Management

I did not work in management so I would not know how it is. The management at my place was terrible.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Safeway part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get an employee discount, which is nice. You get a 15-minute break every two hours if you work 4 hours or more, as well as an (unpaid) lunch break if you work more than six or so. They were incredibly flexible with scheduling.

    Cons

The people aren't always great. Pay isn't amazing either. DO NOT JOIN THE UNION-they're absolutely useless unless you're a full-time worker who's been there for years.

    Advice to Management

Raise pay, promote managers based on work ethic, not seniority. Stop hiring as many cashiers and give people below them the chance to move up.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Safeway part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get automatic raises after certain periods of time,

    Cons

Managers micro manage, I always had scheduling issues and they were not understanding of the fact I was still in school at all, one manager in particular only ever wanted me to work on carts so I would be stuck with 8 hour shifts in the middle of winter outside constantly except for my 15 minute break

    Advice to Management

Work better with employees about scheduling
